Carvana's stock was $361 in August; it closed $33.57 on Friday. Its last "earnings" was a negative $4.18 a share. They are bleeding money. Their apparent goal is to drive out competitors and then lower what they pay. Question is who will outlast who??

Between price increases for MY23 models and rising interest rates and then paying state taxes again, those planning on selling MY22's to buy the MY23's may not be laughing all the way to the bank. Hope that is not the case, but it is a possibility.

Current 5/29/22 Carvana offer is $34,889 with 1439 odometer miles

MSRP price was $24,620 but I paid 1.8% under at $24,174. Total Out-the-Door price was $26,068 that included $1,551 in sales tax, $150 doc fee and $193 in other state fees.

So Carvana's offer is $8,821 over my Out-the-Door price or $10,269 over MSRP.

My previous Carvana offers were $32,974 on 5/2/22 and $31,196 on 4/13/22 so the current offer has increased by $3,693 in just 1.5 months.

If these inflated prices hold I plan to order a MY2023 Maverick XLT Hybrid and sell my current Maverick XLT Hybrid and use the proceeds from that sale to lower my cost by over eight thousand dollars.

Drama R Us.

Looking over your shoulder? For the rest of your life? Some of you have a flair for the dramatic.

For amounts like we are talking about on this thread you're going to have to pay it (with a penalty) if you don't report it and get caught. They're not going to throw you in jail and you're not going to be charged with crimes.

Make sure that Carvana check clears BEFORE you sign the title. Make the driver waits while you and he go to the bank. No money, no honey.

Why are you making false stuff up that is not true at all?

You have so many false statements in your reply.

Make sure that Carvana check clears BEFORE you sign the title.
First falsehood: You DO NOT sign the title. Carvana takes the title unsigned.

Second falsehood: Check clearing takes a day at major banks so how exactly would you wait for the check to clear before handing over the title.

Make the driver waits while you and he go to the bank. No money, no honey.
Third falsehood: Implying that Carvana's check from Wells Fargo bank is a bad check.

Depositing Carvana's check from Wells Fargo bank into another major bank like Bank of America has the funds available immediately or at most within one day.

From someone who has already sold a vehicle to Carvana it was by far the easiest used vehicle transaction I have ever done.

Carvana check in hand, go to bank, deposit check, money immediately available.

Exactly why those of us in position to take advantage of that sinking ship hope they hold on a bit longer. We all know the insane offers will end eventually, question is what ends first, Carvana offers or the vehicle shortage ?

Nobody knows for sure what’s going to happen with Carvana and the others like Vroom, etc. I think checks not clearing at some point in the future is a possibility. Like musical chairs you don’t want to be the last one standing.
What I find curious, and it’s mentioned previously, is how they determine an offer. I sold a car a few weeks ago and got best offer through KBB even though all were close. Yesterday I got offers for my second car and KBB was highest again but this time by $4K! Wish I knew the algorithm.

So what. Lots of stocks have fallen in the current bear market. You seem to equate stock valuation as if that means a company is going out of business if it is down from it's peak.

With your logic a lot of companies must be going out of business.

Netflix: Down from a high of $690 to $195 or down 71.7%
PayPal: Down from a high of $308 to $85 or down 72.4%
Zoom: Down from a high of $389 to $110 or down 71.7%

And a whole lot of other technology companies are down over 50%.

Until the vehicle shortage ends these insane offers will continue from all comers like Vroom, CarMax, Carvana and others as it is basic supply and demand.

Vehicle shortage because of the semiconductor chip supply issue will continue through this year and into 2023 according to Jim Farley CEO of Ford.

My apologies to Carvana and to Elio Motors. Both are fine firms.

Please follow everything that is happening to Carvana, they can't sell cars in 2 states, and their licenses are revoked.

huunvubu has it correct, at least for my experience, two sales - no issues - both were owned not financed, normal delay of funds at my credit union, nothing unusual both cleared as any deposit would. I would sell to them again, no experience buying

I just decided to see what Carvana would offer for my truck.

I have the Hybrid XL
360
Ford Roll Up Tonneau Cover
Added Ford Bronco Wheels,
Mud Flaps
Rubber Bed Liner
Tailgate Assist
Extended 8 year 100,000 miles Warranty

With the add ons and extended warranty, I probably would break even.

There is no way I will be selling my truck. I was just curious. This is one great truck for the value. It runs well, gets great mileage, comfortable, the style is great, and fits my needs.

Very Interesting and who knew that our little truck's value would be so much more than our purchase price.

Here is my offer a few days ago for an XL 2.0, Moonroof, Hitch, 120V Outlet, Co-Pilot 360, Full Size Spare (yeah right!), Ford's Soft Tonneau Cover, Bug/Hood Protector, Remote Start w/fob, VSS, with aftermarket Spray-in Bed Liner and SiriusXM Commander Touch. Total Cost=$25,635.00.
Ford Maverick My Carvana Offer 1653846788833

Earlier in May I ran the numbers on an AWD Lariat and received a trade-in range for my XL:

Thanks for trusting Black Book to appraise your 2022 Ford Maverick. Keep this email for your records.
Congratulations! Your estimated trade-in value is: $27,440 - $31,280

But how much would I pay for the new AWD Lariat over MSRP. I'd like to think $0 more, but we have to be realistic. Who knows the value before a 2023 Lariat arrives. I wouldn't even consider it if I had cruise and AWD. Course, I guess I could get an AWD XL with ave to admit, it is tempting.
