They only sell the 1 product but I just ordered it, $15 usd to ship to Canada. Total was just over $83 shipped, IMO worth it but may not be for you. Also might be illegal LOL.

That fake engine sound is a mandated safety feature (just like the backup alarm) to alert the blind and if you happen to hit one (even if not your fault) with it disabled you could held solely) responsible for ALL their medical and legal. Your insurance company would have their way out of paying anything.

I drive a hybrid and I think my fake engine sound maker is broken. I have no idea what you’re talking about.

You could buy an EB with "real" engine noise all the time. Of course, this forum would be of less interest to you because about 75 percent of the problems discussed seem to be Hybrid model related..... Sorry hybrid owners, just calling it as I see it. ;)

Same. All I hear is a faint electrical motor sound in forward. I do get the back up sound.

Yup, not to mention the victim's lawyer will have a field day with you in court on the civil side. Hello punitive damages.

And it's not just for blind people. Children and really any pedestrian or biker who doesn't happen to be looking right at your vehicle.

I think I've said it before and I'll say it again. Unless you have bat ears, the sound is almost inaudible in the cabin. It's selfish and dumb to try to disable it

I live in the country so for 99% of my driving, there will be no kids/bikers/deaf people around but I appreciate the worry
Why did you think deaf people were a factor?

~200 miles north of Calgary. No worries folks, the only thing they might encounter is a Moose or Grizzly. Certainly no ambulance-chasing American lawyers.

Wow. The description for the product is hilarious:

" Ford's latest hybrids implement an external speaker that produces a loud garbage truck like beeping noise in reverse. Additionally, the speaker will create a UFO-like noise as well if you are traveling forward in electric mode under 20MPH. This is not favorable to those who live in quiet neighborhoods and depart in the early hours or come home late at night, or if you need to creep into your hunting spot, or if you just don't want the added attention, or if you just enjoy the peace and quiet things of life. "
