So as it’s warming up here (93° yesterday when I left work) I’m using my A/C more and more. It was 53 yesterday morning when I left home at 4:00 am and warmed way up. So I start the vehicle from the app when I’m about 10 minutes away from leaving work and go to the vehicle to leave. Get in and because I’d switched the a/c off in the morning and had it set to 65, when I got in the vehicle to drive home I turned it to low and max AC (switching on the a/c and recirculate as well). The blower would only blow hot air. It never cooled on my 45 minute commute and when I left again this morning at 4:00 (65 degrees this am) it still would only blow hot air. Not even outside air temp, HOT. I’m thinking the blending door may be stuck as I had that issue previously in my focus I commuted in when it got really hot out like this after being cool in the AM. Has anyone else experienced this? I don’t use the auto temp feature even though my XL has it. I turn it to the temp I’d like it to be and it’s worked fine the first 7500ish miles

Hello there. Can you send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer? I'd like to look into this A/C issue on my end!

To the dealer! Your're the first person to report this issue on the forum. I'm curious if the blend door actuator issues from the Ranger will happen on the Maverick over time.

Is this the first time you have used the A/C since getting the truck?

When you switch on the A/C, can you hear the compressor kick on? If the compressor kicks in, the coolant level might not be sufficient to cool the air.

If you park the truck, does a small puddle of water collect under it? If so, your blending door theory might be right because the A/C is working but cold air can't get into the cab.

Dealer time?

Not anywhere as severe as the OP, but my Mav will turn on the AC 3 out of 5 times I start the truck. I manually turn off the AC and leave the temp at 68. I get in the truck in the morning (52 degrees outside) and the AC comes back on.

No it’s been working fine and doing what it should. But with it getting hotter it’s more critical. I’m in the southeast so I’ve used ac off and on since I’ve bought it

So I have verified the fuse is good, verified the compressor is coming on and is sweating (see pics below). I have also attached a pic of what I have the a/c set to. I’m making an educated guess on past experience it’s going to be the heat/cool damper as my Focus used to do it at work occasionally when the weather was like this (cool in the AM where you flip it on a low temp setting to knock the chill off, then hot as hades in the afternoon). I have to park on asphalt at work and it’s not covered parking.

Called several other dealers and all are end of next week at the earliest. So you buy a brand new vehicle and have an issue less than 6 months in and they don’t want to do anything to rectify and repair it quickly. So im supposed to commute an hour and a half each way in 90+ degree heat with no air conditioning and that’s just somehow supposed to be okay? No offer of a courtesy vehicle or anything?

I do not have a service report to update as I have an appointment for Thursday. I’ve been driving my wife’s Denali to work the last 2 days due to it remaining stuck. Today she told me the air conditioning in my truck started working. That tells me either the damper motor is not working all the time or the damper itself was stuck. If it’s anything like my focus I had before, the sealing tape/weatherstripping on the damper itself is rolling and causing the damper to stick. I will let the technicians take a look at it still as the issue is still there, just whatever was causing it became unstuck. Just wanted to update the community. I do have a case number with Ford as well

Probably not a fix for the mav but a few months ago the right side of my wife's Dodge Grand Caravan was stuck on heat even with the ac on. I did a quick search and for the Dodge I had to turn off the ac turn both temp sides down to cool then back up to hot again then back down to the coldest settings and it reset whatever. Everything is working again.
