Just wanted to post a comparison of the road noise level I recorded of my old 2010 Mazda 3 VS my new Maverick Lariat with the acoustic windshield.

These were both recorded multiple times over the same stretch of highway at the same time of the day with no radio or HVAC running so this is as close to pure driving noise as you can get. The Mazda peaked at 66.1 DB while the Maverick came in much quieter at 49.5.

Ford Maverick Interior road noise sound level comparison. Maverick = 49.5 decibels Mazda

Nice work OP! I’m coming from a 07 CRV so I imagine all trim will be quieter that my existing ride.

The profile of the noise also looks much more pleasing.

So cool...been wishing someone would do this!!
Thanks for sharing.
No problem. I was looking for the same info before I got my Maverick but couldn't find anything definitive. I hopped in my Mazda after I had driven the Maverick for a few days and the difference was incredible.

Yeah no doubt. I'm betting that even the XL is significantly more quiet than my Mazda was.

Would be neat it you ever have the opportunity to do Lariat versus the XLT and XL to see if the acoustic windshield really does a whole lot....

Ha! I'd love to if I could find two other Mavericks in town. Hopefully someone with an XL/XLT can download a decibel app and do the same test I did. All you need is the app and some open highway.

I can test it on my XLT, but I think its going to be hard to compare, since the noise level depends heavily on how windy it is outside and how fast you are going. Below 60 mph this is one of the quietest vehicles I have driven, 70-80mph and the wind noise becomes significantly worse than my Rav4. Thats all driving on fairly good quality/newer highway roads in MD. Still I'm curious to see if my general impressions are confirmed by a DB app.

Interesting. I have a Lariat. What tires are you running? I have the stock Lariat tires without the FX4 package. I'll check my db level tonight.
Lariat with FX4 and tow package so it's got the Pirelli Scorpions which don't have very aggressive tread at all.

I tested three days on a flat asphalt highway, no wind, light traffic and was going exactly 70mph on cruise control. The test I posted was basically the medium of the three as not to cherry pick a low result.
I'm still breaking it in but I'll run some test at 80mph when I can.
