I understand the advantage of patience and not paying a premium, but your ability to wait when your 35 is different than when your north of 70. It would have been nice to wait, but I don't know what the price or options will be on the 2023 Mavericks, or the build time delay after the order is placed.
I’m another one of those folks who got his Mav when a customer backed out of his through a combination of luck and persistence (I had been working a 250 mile search radius for 3 weeks when the stars aligned).

I would have preferred not to pay $4k over the MSRP, but my 94 Ranger was starting to fall apart, I wasn’t all that thrilled with the re-designed Ranger, and I knew I was probably going to have to wait a year for a new Mav.

Enjoy your truck!! Welcome to the Hot Pepper Red club!!!

Meanwhile I ordered in September and only have the tonneau cover….but nice findšŸ‘šŸ˜Ž
I ordered my wife's early January 22 and got the window sticker last Thursday, that it is production. I just found this forum last week. Those of you that are wanting, what is the hold up, if you ordered it so long ago. I have heard that high volume dealers may get their orders moved up, but that is hear say. My son ordered a 2 door bronco in October and has heard nothing.

Did your wife dream that up? Because they stopped making Escorts ages ago. šŸ™ƒ
My thoughts exactly. Those crazy 30-somethings, going for the brand new vintage stuff.

Congrats to you. You got your wish...not having an Accord and the wife is happy. There is no price for happiness.

I'm going to have to get a tailgate damper but the Maverick came with a bed cover! My 16 F150 has the tailgate damper and bed cover and I like both features. And yes I kept the F150 as the Maverick can't do everything.

My wife was at the local Ford dealer a couple of months ago looking for an escape or escort hybrid. She mentioned that I was planning to order a Maverick hybrid when ordering opened back up. Well the dealer didn't have the car she wanted so the salesman took her phone number.
Two days ago he called to tell her that a Maverick had come in and the person that ordered it was in trouble with his wife and might have to back out. (He had purchased a new Ranger a few months ago). We scooted down, glanced at the Pickup, read the green window sticker and left a deposit in case the buyer backed out.
Next morning the salesman called and said the person that had ordered the Maverick last July backed out and we were 1st in line!!!!. We are now the proud owners of a 2022 Maverick Hybrid Lariat with the Luxury Package and Co-Pilot (and a stupid sunroof) in Hot Pepper Red!
Somehow I feel like I won Unicorn lottery.
🌶 SWEET! Welcome to the Hot Pepper Red family! (There is a Forum for that.) Be sure to post some photos.

5K, But I didn't have to wait over a year for a pickup and I didn't want my wifes choice of an Accord. She is thrilled with the Maverick. So what is it worth to you to not wait a year plus to get your new ride?
Not worth $5k that's for sure.

Congrats, Rockinchair. I'm up north from you, having a great time with my Maverick. Sometimes you need a new vehicle and it's better to pay extra than get something you don't want.

Fantastic! Very happy for you! These days this seems to be the way many people are getting their Mavs. I have the same features and package so I know you'll love the truck. Happy and safe travels!

Nice build and color! You also got to skip all the pain and suffering… To me, that’s almost worth the $5K!
