First of May. First Post. First Maverick. As they say, two out of three ain’t bad. Getting ready to retire and started looking at the two new small inexpensive pick up trucks. Decided the Maverick was the best option for me.

As I soon found out, as you already know, **POOF** none to be found. Hopefully, I have the patience to wait and try to order one in July/August time frame. Or, do I settle for the other new little “truck”?

What other new little truck? There is a new Sports Adventure Vehicle out there, but Maverick is the only real truck. 😁

True! I saw a Santa Cruz for the first time the other day. Looks tiny. My Mav is a beefcake compared to the SC!

Nope. The Maverick and the Santa Cruz are the same size overall. I think the Santa Cruz is a little bit heavier than the Maverick. I've driven both.

I recently sold my old truck (if you call 2022 old) back to the dealership for a trunk bed full of $$,$$$. Why? After 7 months only had 3K miles. As I’m getting ready to retire looking to cut my expenses.

Currently I work from home. My wife has a new Honda CRV that she loves. It’s our only vehicle. As we live out in the country on 20 acres we do have need for a truck from time to time.

A brand new Maverick Hybrid XLT is less than 1/2 what I paid for my previous truck. The MAV is a perfect size for our situation. I probably should have checked availability before I sold my old truck. Nah! It was the right decision either way.

As Paul Harvey (remember him?) use to say, “And know you know the rest of the story”

You could get the other truck right now since they are in dealers lot. Order a Maverick in August and trade the other truck in when the Mav comes in.

Maybe it’s just the SC’s weak stance.

Interning idea. But that plan would still add additional expenses. It’s going to be a one time purchase of either vehicle. Question is, do I have the patience to wait?

If Brunswick isn't to far away from you, there's a tentative plan for some of the Maine Maverick owners to meet up in a couple of weeks at Fat Boys. Look for the thread and join the conversation.

It is. Use the search button at the far right and enter Hello Maine Maverick Owners. I'm still waiting for my ride but I may head down there for a face-to-face and chance to see a corral full of Mavericks.

A few words of advice. Get a SIGNED order sheet showing the price. Ask if there will be any Added Dealer Markup. If you get anything other than a no, go somewhere else. Research your dealer. Yelp, dealrater.com, google. Read through this forum daily. Finally, watch Tim Bartz,
@fordvideoguy on you tube. Information can save you a ton of problems

You'll probably need to do a "Call a dealer, any dealer, Marathon". They'll oftentimes receive an order and the buyer changed his mind for whatever reason. Johnny be quick though, and beware of dealers who want to take advantage of the markup. Good luck and welcome.
