I'm not sure the process but they aren't too hard to come by. There was one for sale down the road from me not too long ago.

Many of the Kei vehicles can be imported now. I saw tons when I lived in Seattle. I really want a Subaru Sambar or a Nissan Figaro, but I don't think I can import into California. (I haven't looked to closely though)

They imported it lol. After 25 years they are ok. Some states like SD you can have brand new ones as they are registered as off road vehicles. I had a Mitsubishi but sold it when I bought my bus.

There’s a dealer for them here in NC. And they can be road legal except for highway use. (Wouldn’t be able to keep up anyway)

Looked into it, but I’m taller than 6’ so would have difficulty fitting.
