Has anyone looked into what is the widest tires you can put on stock XLT rims that won't cause any rubbing issues while turning?

Edit: I see in the pinned thread that 245/65R17 would fit, but wouldn't that increase the circumference making the speedometer slightly wrong? Would 245/60R17 also work and also be more accurate in circumference?

Edit 2: Ok, I see doing a search that 245/60R17 seems very limited in choices while 245/65R17 returns a lot of options... And I did some calculations and apparently it's only like a 4% difference in the speedometer reading. So... Basically I've answered my own question and probably didn't need to post this, lol. Sorry!! šŸ˜…

I think that's a really good choice for tire size and brand. I might do that when it comes time to change my tires.

I have heard the 245/70s are fine stock. Plus it gives you almost an inch of total ground clearance. I am gonna do a 2" lift aswell though. That will give me just under 1/4 inch less minimum ground clearance than a Sasquatch Bronco, which I intended to buy initially.

After those wear out I will maybe look into a pinch weld trim to fit a 265/70r17. That would be killer especially if I can maintain 20mpg.

KO2s are overkill for this vehicle and are significantly heavier than similar options. Like a lot.

I run 245/65R17 Toyos.

It'll probably look pretty awesome. The Maverick is not exactly an off-roading machine though, so it might be overkill, but it'll look good, lol.

20MPG? That’s all you expect? If that’s the case, you’ll be fine with 245/65-17s. I have Falken Wildpeak ATs and my average is around 24-25MPG. With heavy winds, uphill driving or just plain got my foot into it, It’ll drop to about 22. Under ideal conditions I’ll occasionally get 29 to 30mpg.

I have never had a vehicle do better than 21mpg and several have been single digit. These days Im in the low teens. After my factory 235 Falkens wear out I will be trying to find a set of Mud terrains that fit. A/Ts just dont give me any confidence offroad. There isnt a all terrain tire in the world that cant get stuck in soft wet grass on a sloped yard. The entire island I live on is a mountain. Nothing is flat that isnt paved. Typically mud terrains will take MPGs down another 1-2 over A/Ts. Maui isnt really built for good fuel mileage so keeping an average over 20 will basically make me a wealthy man.
