I don't like being the center of attention

If they are looking no matter what you are driving maybe they are not attracted to what you are driving maybe what you are or are not wearing?

I generally wear all my gear(helmet, gloves. Jacket, long pants and boots of some sort) so I dunno. I think the bike is a a much more rare item than whatever I wear on my body.

My Slingshot, on the left to this post, gets so much attention that people even don't watch for the red lights to turn green and the people behind them lay on the horns. Here in the middle of the boonies where people only get out on their weekly trip to Walmart, they can't keep up on the latest vehicles besides old pickup trucks. They roll down their windows and try to talk to me, since I have no doors or windows. I could make a lot more comments on the locals but since I am not a native here, I should be careful what I say.

Prior to getting my Mav I'd seen exactly three others out in the wild. Since I took delivery a few weeks ago I haven't seen any at all, which is kinda weird. But anyway, it makes me slightly uncomfortable that I'm driving such an uncommon vehicle around. All the time I see people staring and pointing, and I'm glad there's interest in this truck but it makes me feel pretty weird. I really can't wait for more Mavericks to hit the road so I don't feel like the alien species under the microscope. Am I the only one who doesn't like the attention? I'm happy to talk with anyone who approaches me with questions, but the attention from other drivers is a strange feeling.

I really don’t care either way, but I’m kinda jealous that people are all talking about how much attention they get for their mav. It seems like the only attention i get is cuz of my loud music emanating from my maverick, rather than the maverick itself. What they don’t realize is it’s not some kid riding around playing bass heavy jams, but rather they’re witnessing a mid life crisis of sorts from a mid 40s gentleman rediscovering his late teens love of loud car audio (while also loving his maverick)

Oh, just be happy to be part of a rare club, my MX5 is a rare club and my cute little truck will be too. We just have really really good taste in vehicles.

I drove my Dads maverick Hybrid from WA to CA. I got asked about it from 2 guys at the gas station and lots of looks on the grapevine and asked again at Pyramid Lake. 35 MPG all the way and no issues going up the grapevine. A great truck. Will post a picture soon.
