Just got a call from my dealer. Ford is making dealers verify orders to actual customers, to make sure dealers aren't making up orders to get inventory, and perhaps to eliminate multiple orders across multiple dealers to game the system.

They have been doing this with DLs and Signatures on the Doras for a while.

I thought customers had to provide a drivers license to get an order submitted. That seems the easiest way for Ford to check for duplicate orders ect.

They had my DL. I had to go up and sign a purchase order. I would have thought this was standard practice anyway.

I had to put down a 500 dollar deposit and show DL.

All I had to do was text a pic of my DL to the dealership. I haven't signed a DORA, put down a deposit, seen or even talked to my salesman yet (only email/text) and I'm already scheduled for a build.

Wonder if your dealer got caught with their hand in the cookie jar and is having to pay for it now?

DL and I put $100 down just to show some level of commitment.

I did not have to provide DL. Just ordered thru horsham few days ago

I just had to give a copy of my DL. They said no deposit needed, they’d be able to sell if I backed out.

Why would your dealer call you with that info if they already had your DL??

The dealer asked that you come in today to sign a purchase agreement?
