Wow not bad , is that on ford accessories web site ? I didn't see it
Yep. It wasn’t for a while (along with the full drop-in bedliner kit) due to shortages, but recently came back in stock so my dealer could get one in for me.

I don't think you wasted your money. Maybe you just need to alter your perspective. All the items that are leaving black stains or scratches on your SIBL when you transport them would with out the SIBL, be causing the same damage to your painted bed. Your SIBL is doing it's job! It's taking the wear and tear and keeping your painted bed free from scratches and rust.

For me, a SIBL is mandatory. It's as necessary as floor mats. The moving blankets others have suggested, are a low cost solution to your problem. Heck you could even use cardboard. If you transport a lot of goods, you might invest in a bedrug. I ordered the xlt mat through tonneaucovered.com for $180 with no tax and free shipping. It covers the tailgate and the gap between the tailgate and bed. The impact mat is similar, (different material) and is available through the Ford Accessories store.

It can be purchased for less elsewhere.
I like it! I am going to go with that when I get my maverick

Truck accessory options used to thrill.

But 8 months between Order Confirmed (with FITS later promised) and waiting for Scheduled to Build (with the we know you're still out there message last week), I'm not so excited anymore.

Sorry Spanky, I've gotta live my own life.

You got to watch for water getting under the drop ins.

long term if the SIBL product Ford uses is quality and it was applied correctly this would be best option for most.

So far been loving my Bed Rug and my setup! I have a trifold hard cover and Kuat bike rack on the back. Also using a dropper hitch so I can fully drop the tailgate while bikes are loaded. I'm always throwing gear in the back so the Bed rug is super comfy on my knees.

How do you think it might work to use these interlocking mats to construct some kind of bed mat? Anyone tried it?

For me, that looks like a good idea that I'll try....but mostly because I've already got boxes of them in my garage. If they don't work, I'm not out anything plus I've reclaimed some garage space.

Hahaha this guy regrets using his truck like it was intended to be used because it scratches the bed liner..................

So wait...I'm confused. If you get a drop-in bed liner from the factory (which is the only option now with the lux package), it's a DIY project where you have to cut through the liner just to expose the cubbies? And hope you don't scrape up or otherwise destroy the truck bed in the process? And buy your own bolts and hope they fit?

Or you have to remove the drop-in entirely and then cut parts of it out?

Does this affect the locking rails too?

Or is this only if you order the drop-in after the fact?

I wish I just got the bed rug since I have a soft tonneau cover. I’m mostly hauling furniture and other personal items, but the bedliner has been quite a nuisance. When you pull items off the bed, it can potentially leave black stains or scratch it.

I’m using a rug now to prevent this but I feel like I wasted $500
Thanks for the initial post on this OP. After dropping the factory SIBL at my dealers request, I’ve been trying to decide which way to go next. Actually, the thought of scuffing up my $390 Alto paint job to get the goo to stick was giving me second thoughts anyway.

Reading through all the threads, it seems like there are at least 3 schools of thought. For heavy tool use, loose stones, and better friction when wet (i.e. dirt bike unloading) the SIBL seems the best way to go. For general purpose use and softer handling of delicate loads, the bed mats or DIY cut rubber is just fine. Somewhere in the middle are the rigid DIBL’s which (when done right) lean towards bed protection with easy cleanup but are also relatively gentle on loads, especially for sliding.

FWIW… After taking a closer look at the factory 5-piece DIBL by Penda, I think that’s the way I’m going to go (assuming it is available). It looks like it is very closely integrated to fit snugly and work well for my occasional spring mulch bag loads… not to mention having the slick molded in Ford and Maverick logos. Installation seems easy too as shown in this video someone posted in a different thread:
Modular Bedliner Installation

You got a spray in for $500? Dang, I was quoted $650.
I already had the BedRug and it works very well. 15 minute install.
Yes, I called my Ford dealership and they recommended a store that does their bed liners. It was $450 plus tax.

What? Sell?
In a few years when EV charging infrastructure improves.

I regret getting the SIBL because I don't really need it. I could have gone the interlocking mats from HF and it would have serve my purpose. Imagine how much I could have saved.
It's all because you people kept saying I'm getting this, I'm getting that. I got caught up in it. WTH???? I need to stay off this forum. I spend too much time here and end up spending more money. I really love my truck though.
I feel ya!

Canopy and carpeted bed liner is the cats meow.

That's really cool. I was thinking of doing the topper but I feel like it would we be too small to sleep in?

My order is an XLT w/ Luxury Pkg. This was supposed to come with a SIBL as part of the package. Are you saying that the lux pkg bedliners are now drop-in? I ordered on 8/27, and have a build date for the week of 4/11. I may not have been clear that lux pkg bedliners were going to be drop-ins for the lux pkg. Not a deal breaker.
