Does anyone know what this little guy is? It was found lying on the floorboard under the driver seat of my 2022 Ecoboost.
The ends appear to be clean cut with no evidence of ever being connected to anything. Google part number search says maybe seat belt or airbag connection??? Truck appears...
Sorry, I have to laugh at this one! As a card carrying āseniorā, Iām old enough to remember working on my old 1969 Corvette that had numerous āindicator lightsā on the console to show whether the headlights (high & low beam), front & rear turn indicators, brake and even license plate lights were...
Thanks @A.Bursell. I used PETG filament for these since I already had that material, but I think ABS has similar properties. I believe the main concern in this application would be thermal stability in which case either material should be fine.
As for vibration, I used an Ender 3 Pro printer...
@bbhaag you might also check with your local library. Ours has an āInnovation Centerā that will print out designs for the cost of material.

I did⦠they fit ok, but slightly loose. Iāll probably scale them up a couple percent if they ever come off. They were printed on an Ender 3 Pro which is dimensionally quite accurate using PETG filament for higher temperatures.
Thanks Skyline!
No⦠Iām not interested in going into business now that Iām happily retired, but you should check your local library to see if they offer 3D printing services. Theyāll typically do if for the cost of material if you send them the .stl files.
Not sure Montana. There are apparently several versions based on powertrain configuration, but they all seem to be based off the same pattern.
The number on my FWD EcoBoost is LX6B-6B629-FL and it is just a single piece.
I believe the part used on a standard 4WD Eco (without FX4) is...
Thanks Scotty. Hope your truck comes soon⦠Youāre going to love it!
I was a little worried about the oil stream flow too, but it ended up ābending downā just fine. No need to let the drain plug dribble out, although I did do that for the oil filter.
(Note: my truck was on the ground and...
Problem Resolved:
Got a copy of the official service report with this additional information.
āFound that while testing pin fitment, pin 3 of connector C928 for circuit VLN33 was not being properly secured in connector allowing overhead console module to push pin out of connector. Replaced...
Well, I got my truck back yesterday with all the interior lights working correctly again. I was given the service information second hand, but it looks like @Senior Master Ford Guy and @50s4ever get to split the prize. š
From what I was told, āthe connection was bad in the back of the map light...
Ahh⦠thank you for the sketch @50s4ever! They did say something about replacing a connector next so hopefully C212 is the one. I will check and find out.
I truly appreciate everyoneās expert advice here. Nice to know Ford is backed up by such great service experts!
Glad to be of assistance. 𤣠I will definitely pass this along as well.
You make it sound so easy, but this is a perfect example of how AI (ie the diagnostic check lists) can never really replace human expert intelligence and insight. Wherever youāre working, I hope you bosses understand and...
Thank you so much for the very detailed reply @Senior Master Ford Guy ! You obviously know your craft inside and out. I sure wish you were the one doing the surgery on my baby.
I will pass along all of your comments to the dealership immediately and keep everyone posted on progress.
Thanks...
Has anyone else experienced problems with the interior lamp staying on after the side curtain airbag recall was performed?
The interior lights on my XLT ecoboost are staying on with the switch in the middle position ever since the recall was done. Itās as if the switch is stuck in the left...
Youāre right about that! It is a trade off for sure. I like to check the brake rotors and pads every oil change also⦠kind of my own multipoint inspection.
I agree with @Gray Maverick though⦠if it were up to me (I guess it really is at this point), Iād just as soon leave the covers off...
I saw that too! Iām hoping that is the case and PETG does the trick. It will take me a while to get to my next oil change though so maybe somebody else in the group will get there first and let us know.
Thanks for the Printables tip also! Iām pretty new to 3D and still finding my way around.
Thanks! Iām honored by your endorsement but happily retired now.
Spent 40 years as a structural vibration engineer in the machine tool industry. Never did design work (left that to the real experts) but learned a lot working with some of the best! If I can just pass on any bits of knowledge to...
