My Lariat has insulators here..

This is why I'm glad I got a Lariat. Even if it didn't, it's not a big deal. I'm sure it doesn't drastically affect driveability or sound. Even if mine doesn't have it for some reason, at least there's Ford Genuine Parts for this.

I'm not sure if this is a lariat thing or an ecoboost vs hybrid thing. Does everyone with a hybrid have the insulation so far?

WesM-

great question… according to what we see so far on the forum here and then from the Ford Parts diagram I posted earlier… it would appear it’s like this.

insulators- Lariat Hybrid 100%XLT hybrid 100%,

no insulators- XL, XLT, 2.0 Ecoboost units.

questionable Insulator—Lariat 2.0 and XL Hybrid?
The website says Lariat Version..?

Usage: RH, 08/16/2021, Maverick 2022-,
LARIAT VERSION:RH. 08/16/2021. Maverick
2022-, 2.5L 4V PFI 14 Gas/Electric, XLT

Well if nothing else it looks like a secure spot to mount a gun holster.

Thanks for finding the solution to this. Sounds like my Hybrid XLT should have it but I will definitely check. That is if it ever gets built and I remember.

I’m digging this idea! Lol… actually we should now flip the script…for fun and distraction for those of you patiently waiting… what to use this area or space for lol?! I again know I’m being a bit of a stinker about it…. But it’s kind of more of an interesting Easter egg type find for me, and it also begs the question how uniquely different our Mavericks might be?
Based on build date, package(s) selected, and or model type.

This is the area often used for drugs or weapons smuggled across boarders.
Time to 3D print some containers for drugs and guns.

Okay so I’ve got an XLT Eco, so no insulation.

Question: what kind of functional difference do you think it makes in terms of engine noise etc to have this insulation?

Thx.

Agreed, I would like to know from Ford’s standpoint outside of costing ($$)—what is difference on sound dampening… I believe it would cut down some on engine bay noise, road/wind noise hitting into the door / passenger compartment? It also helps keep certain engine bay smells (normal oil/grease/gas and heat smells) down or out. I also think it would help with keeping that area and Jambs cleaner? Just seems odd… I suspect the ratio of eco boost XL/XLT’s will put weigh the number of units (lariat/hybrids) that have it for cost savings.

Thank you Kindly! So, now this went from being, only certain units, but maybe missing or confusion on the install line??
I have the same truck. Just no sunroof?? So… both mine are missing. I so appreciate you updating the post.! Would you be comfortable if you have it taking a picture of your service work order sheet that they give you? My dealership on the phone at least sounded clueless for now… but once I am there I’m sure it will be ok.
