For me Maverick has much better residuals otherwise I would have preferred the Santa Cruz for multiple reasonsBetter styling too, but the value proposition is the Ford. Comparing like trim levels the Santa Cruz is about 6k more along all trims.
Well, they're not going to put that in their advertisement.3 more things the Santa Cruz has that the Maverick doesn't.
Terrible gas milage
Less usable bed space
Much higher price tag
Agreed! I think the Santa Cruz is ugly, not better styling IMO. The Maverick actually looks like a truck. The Santa Cruz styling is confusing. I kept saying it looks more like a bigger car with a bed, the El Camino reincarnated. It is cool they have better warranty though, if that's true. The Maverick looks like a truck. The Santa Cruz looks like the El Camino had a baby. For anyone out there who has still not seen a Maverick in person, you will not be disappointed when you see it. I parked my 2012 Chevy Colorado right next to one and there is hardly any difference in size. Maybe a few inches.
They're just raising people's awareness of the Maverick. When people don't know that you have competition it's best to keep quiet. Not exactly a very exciting piece, is it?
Honestly, I don't see any sense in a comparison ad when the Maverick isn't even readily available outside of special orders.
I went ahead and purchased the SC Limited in Phantom black - I really, really like this car-truck-suv!! BUT, I have not yet been inside and driven a Maverick; still my preference at this time- but I could not continue to wait. I still have my Mav on order and may keep both.
The headrests are removable - I have pulled the 2 in the back seats - totally useless anyway - in my opinion it would be nearly impossible to get whiplash prevented with those in place, during an accident incident. Besides 99.9999999% of time, no one will be traveling in that back seat!As for the blind spot, the headrests in the Maverick are removable so that will help a lot with visibility. First day I get mine, I am taking them out. Don’t know if they come out in the Hyundai.
Just a note, I am only saying take them out when nobody is using the passenger or back seats .The headrests are removable - I have pulled the 2 in the back seats - totally useless anyway - in my opinion it would be nearly impossible to get whiplash prevented with those in place, during an accident incident. Besides 99.9999999% of time, no one will be traveling in that back seat!
