The size is fine. Visibility is okay after removing the back headrests. The main issue is that it's mounted too low so the angle is a little awkward looking back and impedes forward visibility for taller drivers.
I thought the same until I realized that the mirror arm is adjustable and you can move it up. This is the first vehicle I've owned that you can do this. I no longer have to dip my head on right hand on ramps.

You sir are a gentleman and scholar. I didn't know this. I've adjusted it up about an inch, so it looks like it will be a bit better at rear visibility. I'm pretty tall so it appears from sitting with it in my garage I'll still have to crouch a bit for forward visibility. I'll know more when I get it out for a drive. Thanks!

Ran into a guy who just got his Maverick. The headrests come out easily. Helps with visibility. Just leave them on the back seat floor and put them back in when you need them.

The back window just isn't very tall and the headrests do block some of the view so it's not a great view out the back. My Nissian Frontier 4 door had a much better view and our Chevy 4 door work truck is way better as well. Both have larger rear windows - something about the shape of the Maverick just isn't great for the rear view.

The nice thing is that mirror is on an arm and adjusting that can help - it is idependent of the mirror adjustment, so two adjustment points.

My issue isn't so much out the back, it's actually out the front - the mirror, even with the arm pushed all the way up - blocks my view to the right out the windshield when I'm trying to see cross traffic at intersections. You can adjust the seat to its lowest position to avoid this but that seating position isn’t as comfortable. Only an issue for taller people I guess.

I'm conditioned to use side mirrors from decades of driving with a cap over the bed which is stuffed with tools and equipment. Hopefully a nice looking topper will be coming for the Mav soon.

Yeah, I only discovered this last weekend. I've never noticed a rearview mirror that pivots at the mirror and at the windshield attachment. It goes up quite far!!!

I've never seen anything like it either, and there's nothing in the owner's manual about it (or the rearview mirror at all).

I've seen a lot of reports of how hard it is to see out back with the small rear view mirror, having just returned from a trip and renting a new Kia Sorento and a Chevy Trax let me say the Maverick can't be any worse than either of those rentals. No matter how big the mirror is, the rear seat head rests on both vehicles made only about half or less of the rear glass able to be seen out.
For my past 3 cars, I have used this 3 wide mirror. It is huge and curved on the ends so I can see out the side windows and the whole back seat. It is going straight from my current ride into my maverick. This mirror just latches onto your current mirror. I got it on ebay.
