Ford said this truck was under 20K...I understand people need to make a profit, and they don't like it when I want to use my own Credit Union, but Toyota didn't do this.

That $5385.35 markup is after the $1495 destination fee.

My Toyota Corolla has adaptive cruise control, and power mirrors, and a regular gear shifter and I only paid $21,485 for it
Ford Maverick Should I walk away or Call Somebody Post1

I don't need their truck, my car is a 2020 model. I don't need their financing either. I've been approved for months waiting on them, I could have handed them a bag of money today, they didn't want it. They sent 4 guys to try to convince me to finance with them.

I love fighting the man, but can I win this one?

I mean they’re marking it up. If it’s worth that to you to have it now, pay it. If it’s not, walk away. Seems simple. If I thought I had a deal at MSRP and when it finally arrived they marked it up, I’d walk. But you do you.

Oh, and as for the “call somebody”, there’s nobody to call that’s going to do anything about it. Ford doesn’t care. If you have something in writing from your dealer that they’d sell to you at MSRP then you could try to argue and/or maybe get a letter from a lawyer or something, but at the end of the day, there’s no damages and they probably know there’s really nothing you can do.

Never pay adm.

I will get flamed for this. But…
adm is only for:
  • impatient people
  • People who have no other choice(wreck, no backup car
The smart players wait it out and know this too shall pass.

FIGHT for your price....pretend to give in and finance with them ONLY if they'll bring that price down at least 2k....move the loan in 6 mths. Deal done.
They gamble on people never moving the loan....it's a simple process.
And for heaven's sake don't buy the warranty crap from them....you have 36mths to buy it direct from FMC>

I was in the same situation with financing. I financed with the dealership lender for 2 weeks and then moved the loan over to my credit union. No prepayment penalties.

My dealer said I MUST finance through them (so they could get their kickback from the bank) or I could not buy the truck. They had never told me this until the truck arrived.

OK. I played their game and moved the loan to my credit union immediately after signing the papers. Wasn’t worth my mental energy to be combative over it. I still got what I wanted……and they didn’t.

I’m confused, I see a total msrp of $23705 and a sale price of $26,000. That’s $2295 ADM.. what are the $999 aftermarket products?

What was the sales price you agreed to when ordering?

Edit. I did the math, OP, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about or what you’re doing. You consider things like required state sales tax, tags, a small doc prep fee etc. as “ dealer mark up” and complain about it here? LOL

And you complain that Ford said it was $20k, but you added over $2k of options. Do you expect to get any and all options fee? LOLLL

And yes, if you have ever purchased a car before you paid state sales tax, tags, and likely some doc fees...

Please stick with your Toyota...

ADM's today are going to look cheap after the 7 interest rate hikes the FED does this year.

Remember the Dollar is but toilet paper printed into infinity.

I think if you look at the historical increases on MSRP you will find little to no examples of a 5-10k hike on a car from an mfg (maybe Tesla is the closest?)

couple that with always being able to find a dealer who will at least msrp and I think you can expect a 500ish to 1k rise in the the next couple years.

most dealers are looking for 5-10k markup. So it’s still in two different worlds.

I absolutely agree. The dollar is worthless.

Send me yours and I'll dispose of it responsibly for you.

I wouldn't want you to clog your drains with that worthless ... stuff. :sneaky:

Absolute classic scumbag dealer moves:
- ADMs
- Worthless add ons
- Captive finance BS

If they won’t budge on this:
- Walk away and order a 2023 from Granger in August
- Send a hard copy showing ADMs to Mark Levine at Ford
- Identify the dealer here so we can protect other members from being scammed (write a bad google review as well)

Note that granger may also be doing some finance tricks from a review we found.(be informed as you go in, know what’s you are pre qualified for. Don’t accept any add ons that their finance team will try to throw your way)

Note that granger still has not fulfilled their broncos, so we don’t know how long it will take for them to clear the mav backlog. It could be years.

I’d like to see some good progress made on them delivering the mavs(which we should see by 2023) before I recommend them.
