and dealers have been trembling in their boots for 15 months over that declaration.
the only offense is a good defense. don't buy them. corporations aren't out to keep you financially sound.
I remember when the Super Duties had a mid cycle refresh in 2005. Perfect storm for Ford. Everybody was flipping houses, contractors had more work then they could handle. The economy was high, there was a real entrepreneurial spirit afoot; the trucks looked good with that new front end, supply was short, many dealers were trying to price them high. I needed two F350s for my business, like yesterday.
Then gas prices soared; we were shocked in spring of 2005 when gas hit $4 a gallon on the east coast. We just limped along abusing an 04 F150, a 03 Ranger, an 02 F550 for a bit longer. Sooner than we thought the opportunity arose to get both trucks for MSRP when buyers wouldn't take delivery of these big trucks (working men couldn't stomach a truck payment and high gas prices). I remember myself and one of my foreman working for me having the luxury of choosing our interior color (I went tan, he went grey) as we walked a lot with a healthy inventory of business white trucks just 45 minutes away from our home..
Well, we don't have gas prices working against us, (in fact high gas prices make a case in favor of a maverick). However, we do have inflation.. and folks are getting tired of everyone else expecting them to pay out of the nose for everything. Don't give these high markup dealers your business... Times are getting tight and we need to get into survival mode and be smart with our money.

My truck was finally delivered last Friday after a 18 month wait. Went to the dealership to look at my build. Test drove the hybrid and was pleasantly surprised in it. So we start talking numbers and my 27,155 pre taxes/fees build had now become 36k due to market adjustment and that it wasn’t a ‘22 but a ‘23. I was told at the time of ordering and last February that my order was immune to market adjustment. “They are hot vehicles so we have to take that into account.” I guess when you order something it doesn’t mean anything with Waldorf ford? Long story short I walked away. It sold about 40 mins after I left according to the salesman who texted me.
Waldorf Ford dealership tried their Yoyo sales tactics on us also. They attempted to charge us the MSRP while asserting that Ford had revoked the offer. Fortunately, we managed to acquire the price protection certificate number from Tim, the Ford Video Guy. Only after presenting the certificate did the weasels backtrack and acknowledge our eligibility for the $3400 rollover credit.
