Ford Maverick XL WRONG COLOR

After waiting since the very first day you could Reserve a Maverick last year I ordered a cactus gray XL. It finally showed up this week and it’s black. They don’t have any trucks coming to sell as a dealer (only custom orders) and they can’t put anymore orders in until the 2023 orders open. I have a black f150 and was looking forward to the lighter color for a work truck and being in San Diego. Anyone dealt with this problems before? Or also is anyone interested in a black hybrid XL Maverick in San Diego. Will save some money instead of $5-$10k markups

Did you receive an email from Ford confirming your order back in June? If you did, and it states that you ordered CG, I would ask the dealer to explain. Then ask them to reach out to thier Ford reps to do something about the screwup.

They said Cactus Gray looked different depending on the light, but this is ridiculous.

It appears the dealer screwed up your order but you should have caught this from the very first email you received from Ford confirming your order because that'll show the color you ordered.
Stupid question.....Does the truck VIN match the VIN on the emails you received from Ford regarding your order?

Yea looking back at every email it looks like the one said black from ford at the very bottom but it’s on someone that messed up. However I ordered two, one xlt AWD that already arrived last year and I didn’t purchase. With all the emails and stuff I was always in contact with my ford salesmen checking on things and he was my point of contact.

Sorry about your situation. It definitely doesn't look Cactus Gray. Cactus Gray can look different shades depending on camera, lighting, etc. But that picture seem too dark. Does the dealer have other vehicles models in Cactus Gray to compare against. It almost look like Alto Blue except Alto Blue is not available in XL trim so it is Shadow Black. I assume your VIN matched what Ford emailed you for schedule email?

I will get back to everyone on the direct messages but I’m going to try and go to dealer tomorrow and see what they can do and I’ll get back with pricing. Maybe in the 30 range?
