2x6 at 54 1/4. It fits, I just think I want a taller one. Maybe 2x10? Might just stack a 2x4 over it. Don't know yet. Anyways, just sharing in case anyone wanted to see the 2x6 specifically. Going to paint whatever I use a matte black or maybe some type of bed liner spray if I can find some.

I need to do that. There was another post recently where the person painted it with Plastidip. I know nothing of the product but it looked good.

I would infer the same 2X6 @ 54-1/4" would fit perfectly across each of the three slots above the wheel well?

The bench is 55 even, by the way (Maybe a smidge less with the spray-in liner). Just in case you wanted to do that.

I think I've seen several people double stack 2x6s with good effect. Personally, a single one seems to work fine. Easier to take out too if you need the whole space, less hassle .

Maybe stack two... then you could use one of them in one of the other positions, if necessary.

I went with two 2X8.

I didn't want smaller boxes to go flying towards the back but looks too high. I was wishing I went with 2X6 as soon as I put them in.

I'm going to assume if you're wanting to place your lumber like this, you'll need the 55" cut. The above pic is using the same 2x6 I had in the original images. It's too short to be secure in this configuration.

I think I'd prefer a single 2x8 over the 2x6 I have now, but 2x10 seems to be the best IMO, tho I don't want to pay for it 😂

add these...will need to cut the divider down for fitment, but added adjustability will be handy.

I have a truck now! That means I just need to buy like 15 cuts of wood now that I can store in said truck bed. Because.. TRUCK STUFF!

Jokes aside... Probably just going to slap a cut 2x4 that I have laying around on top of the 2x6 for the height I want for my divider.. as far as laying lumber horizontally over the wheel wells, I was just sharing what that looked like for someone else in this thread. I don't personally have a use for that configuration at the moment.

Either way, thanks for the tip and product info!

I used a 2x10. Be careful if you have a cover on your bed. I have the hard tri-fold cover and the 2x10 barely pulls out. I have to be very careful not to damage the railings holding the cover on. I most likely am going to have to rip an inch off to make it better. I will add pics when I can.

Thanks for the heads up. 2x8 for me then.
