I am certain it could be. I’m thinking with one of the tunes that are being offered now.

Perhaps @Buschur can chime in.

He’s a longtime Ecoboost modifier that offers bolt on mods for the MAV. I don’t think he does the engine tunes, but would definitely know.
Cobb or 5 Star Tuning will probably offer a tune soon.

I'm driving my Maverick right now and just tried to max it out, but it wouldn't go past 108 mph. I have 255/45/20 tires. I have the 2.0 turbo, front wheel drive, no tow package, and it was in sport mode. Does anyone know why the speedometer goes to 140 if I can only go 108?

If the Tires are rated for that speed. The suspension is good. Plus one has experience driving 100+ go for it!

!00 MPH about 145 feet per sec. Stuff happens in an instant.

Tire speed ratings are the problem for sure on a lot of vehicles!

OEM top speed is usually based on tire application (speed rating). Most aftermarket tunes will remove the fuel cut from OEM governed top speed.

At this stage, Darwin takes over. 🤠

You mean 140.... What is pegging?
"Pegging it" term from old style speedo's that had a peg to keep the physical pointer from going past a certain point which when the peg was hit it might break off pointer or otherwise harm the speedo. 😂

I think the main reason the speedometer goes to 140 is so that 70mph will be centered in the 12:00 position.

I actually welcome that so proper blame is addressed. But if I went 100 miles an hour a month ago and got in an accident tomorrow doing the speed limit, that shouldn't have anything to do with the 100 mile an hour outing, right?
Correct sir
