Multi-month delay for February 2022 deliveries - Why?

I don’t think these delays are just related to a Maverick. Since I also have a Bronco Soort I search the “broncosportforum” as well. Some there are also experiencing the same thing. February estimates delayed to May. I even started a thread similar to what dryheat said and someone even said that those on the Bronco6g forum are seeing wide spread reports of built units being delayed to May. Someone even said their built explorer has been delayed to May.
So, all these delays appear to be across multiple Ford model lines.

It's just a hybrid issue, if you look at the orders being moved they are Lariat with Luxury Packages. I will talk about it tonight.

Just spoke to my dealer. Truck is fully built and waiting on a chip, said it could be sooner than May but really not sure.

I hope the Mexican sun doesn't destroy the paint job before I even get it

The explorer has stereo screen shortages and brake controller shortages. But they are running 3 production shifts 11 hours a day and working off Sundays and Saturdays.

It's nuts reading about all these production delays and delivery dates getting pushed back. I still haven't heard word one on my June order. It's tough to think that when I finally get that email someday, my order will still have an uncertain future. Fingers crossed it's 100% when it shows up.

Yup, dunno. Got notified this morning that it is a "chip hold". Mine got delayed an extra 3 months from ETA of 02-08-2022 this week to 05-08-2022. That is an extra 3 month delay for a Hybrid XL reserved in early July and ordered by the dealer on 08-05-2021. Not good. About to throw in the towel and look for alternative transportation. Perhaps a Santa Cruz.

Thanks for sharing this, our order and production dates are very similar. In fact I was in the dealership on January 8th and the Sales Manager said the vehicle was "built". I had an estimated delivery of 2/14 moved out to 5/15. XLT FX4 AWD 4K w/spray in bedliner.

I was angry last night but figure I will just ride this out given I would be looking at similar delivery time frames for other vehicles if I placed an order now, and I'm not paying over MSRP for a vehicle on a dealer floor.

I don't think there's much my dealer (1st Oracle Ford, just outside Tucson, AZ) can do about this "chip hold," but they are going the extra mile to get information and keep me informed.

One of the advantages of dealing with a small dealer like this is that I was able to just drop by and sit down with my salesman and the owner of the dealership to talk it out.

The owner called the regional manager about it while I was sitting there and got a call back on her cell phone after working hours. She relayed the information to my salesman who emailed me with an update at 8 o'clock at night -- long after they were closed for the day.

I'm not happy with the situation, but at least I feel like they are doing whatever they can to keep me informed.

I don't have a screenshot of the VVR from the dealer but I did speak to my salesman about 6:30. He said on the VVR it reads "Microchip on hold at Plant". With this development I would not be surprised if my other truck scheduled for 3/21 from 2/21 gets pushed out till May as well. So now I wait. I still want this truck. I'm fortunate that I do not need a vehicle right away but I feel for those that do.
