I have a CarPlay garage door opener working on my Maverick using MyQ App + iPhone.

I have a Chamberlain smart garage hub with Wifi.

I made an automation on my iPhone through shortcuts to open the MyQ app when I arrive home.

shortcuts/automation/create personal automation/arrive/choose location (pick how wide of a area around your house you want)/open app/MyQ app

The iPhone will not allow the app to open automatically, but it needs a prompt. I have the MyQ app set to automatically login on startup.

But I noticed that now why I am running CarPlay I get a prompt to open my garage door when I get close to my house. Also when I get into my truck in the morning and start CarPlay I get the option to close the garage door through CarPlay as well.

I don't know exactly what is needed, as I stumbled into this, just wanted to share that it is possible.

If you have an AppleTV or HomePod set as a home hub you don't have to do any setup/shortcut. The garage door status shows up automatically a few blocks from your house if you use the MyQ system.

Are you connected to CarPlay via USB or did you buy a wireless adapter?

+1 on Meross as well. I returned my MyQ opener and bought a belt drive Genie and $26 Meross adapter.
Meross also works with Siri Without Homekit.
I just made a shortcut using IFTTT and the Meross app.

I can just say "Siri, open my garage door," and it does. Closes as well.

What gateway are you saying doesn't work? It should work with any MyQ device as long as you have the built-in Home Bridge or the external myQ® Home Bridge.

Anyone know if you need HomeKit to make this work with CarPlay? I’m an Alexa house but would like to be able to drive up and it auto open too using CarPlay.

For Google users who have a smart garage door opener, voice assistant can do this natively. "hey Google, open garage door". Also works with Nest Hubs. "hey, Google, ask Ford pass app to start my truck" or "open garage door" or "un/lock my truck". Starts and unlocks are PIN protected.

I wrote it in my post… The MyQ Gateway does not work.

You are also wrong, it doesn’t work with any MyQ device. MyQ is much older than the two items you listed.

Not sure what gateway you're referring to. I have the MyQ Controller and the MyQ Bridge with an old garage door and it works for me
