Chamberlain/LiftMaster made a change earlier this year which limits MyQ app's ability to communicate via google assist. I found this out when my old Genie/Overhead Door opener broke and I replaced it with the Chamberlain (Wifi and myQ opener - C2202). Chamberlain has created a proprietary situation with MyQ app and it no longer functions with Google Home or Assist ( I understand it this also applies to Apple's Siri). Also, the MyQ does not work via Android Auto.
I had done the Kia/Gentex mirror mod a year ago (a GenTex ZTVHL3 from a 2010-14 Suburu). It worked fine with my 2011 Genie/Overhead Door garage door opener.
Apparently Chameberlain/LiftMaster has changed the frequencies on which their newer openers operate. Now my old HomeLink mirror no longer works, as it appears to not be using the older frequency. I spoke with HomeLink Support today and they recommended the HomeLink repeater. I have ordered the repeater on Amazon today and I hope will resolve the issue...otherwise my old HomeLink mirror function is useless.
Has anyone else ran into this issue with older vehicles with HomeLinks?
FYI The HomeLink repeater has fixed the problem and is working great with my "mirror mod".
