my unit beeps like that anytime you close via the app, but not when opening via app. and not when closing with a remote transmitter.

I stand corrected. My wife says it stopped a few days ago. It currently does not work from the Car Play nor iPhone from Apple Homekit. It seems to only work from the MYQ app on the iPhone.
In addition, it no longer works from my 2017 Escape.
I'll try deleting and reloading accessory but I suspect you are correct..

I don't much miss not having the MyQ work on my CarPlay screen. I can use it directly from my phone, or I can use the HomeLink button on the mod rear view mirror I installed a couple years ago both working well without any issues. I was disappointed about not getting Alexa to work with the Chamberlen opener, but then again it seems the convenience factor is inversely proportional to the risk of hacking factor, so I'll leave things as they are.

The plot thickens. Everything now working perfectly, although Im not exactly sure why. Yesterday after discovering it was not working, I deleted app from iPhone and attempted to reload as accessory using Homekit ID #. I only got messages it could not find the MyQ Home Bridge accessory. Then I temporarily disconnected power from hub and tried again. Still same error message. Bummer.
Today I went for a drive. MyQ app showed up on Car Play, worked perfectly, opening and closing upon engaging. According to my wife, the only difference is slightly change in color of icon while activating.

If you are Apple you do have to have either Apple TV or Apple HomePod as a hub. I can either use my phone, a Tailwind icon on my truck’s screen, or tell Siri to open or close garage. You can also get a small unit for you dash that will open garage automatically when you arrive as long as you have your phone.
