Wow...

What is wrong with people! How many years, example after example, and we still have idiots who feel the need to get hammered and drive.

It will happen until those accountable for tragic errors of judgement are held accountable for their actions instead of spinning the blame on someone or something else.
Is it any different than revolving door justice. Criminals released only to kill again.
I must add though I feel sad for all those involved, the other driver, the wife and kids of this guy who is lucky to still be alive, but the bottom line, it was reckless and tragic and did not have to happen if only common sense prevailed.

It's very easy to make light of circumstances in which one has no part. You're right though, judgment in these matters should be reserved until the facts of the accident become more clear. Hearing about the details makes the reality really sink in, I have a wife and little girl too, just born this year. I can't imagine their devastation if something like this were to happen to me. I just feel awful for his family, I really hope he lives to tell the tale.
Just reserved. It's not our place to judge.

If you survive a head on collision with a semi, don't care what vehicle you are in (short of another semi) its nothing short of a miracle.
Miracles indeed.

Mine won’t be built until Barberella crash lands on a strange and distant planet and this dude has already wrecked one? This kicks my normal grumpiness up a notch.
Seriously, I've never seen one in the steel, and this guy is already crashing his. What a waste.

My oldest brother had a blow out and hit a semi head on. He did not survive. Hope this man is going to be okay.

I taught my kids, and the rookie drivers where I worked, the same rule. The other guy is not to be trusted and WILL make a mistake.
Years ago I learned a way of thinking from a motorcycle magazine that really helps.
They encouraged you to take responsibility for all of the drivers around you in addition to yourself.
A Captain takes full responsibility for everything that happens on and to their ship, therefore they take precautions and think ahead.

As an aside I had an oncoming '60s or '70s Dodge Powerwagon jink out in front of the semi I was driving. There was other oncoming traffic, a narrow shoulder and a deep drop-off on the right, no where to go and his lateral movement was fast and unpredictable. Combined collision speed was ~100 mph. Totaled the truck I was driving and changed the life of the maroon driving the Dodge.

That is so true in a world where any excuse will do to justify poor or dangerous behavior or laps of judgement
