Oh man! Old timer memory lane alert.
Me and a co-worker were longhaired garbagemen in a rural, redneck town in the '70s. We were young, hard and uncivilized.
After work we'd stop in a tavern which had a farmer and rancher clientele at that time of day. We'd roll in, put Hair of the Dog on the...
It will cost way, way more to refit the tow package and the resale will not be there either.
Look up the cost of a hitch receiver as built vs. adding it later. There is a thread about that here.
I had airbags on my '06 Ranger and they were great for my occasional heavy trailer & load.
Running the bags empty causes chafe which kills the airbags. This is why the dedicated air compressor kits maintain 5-10 psi.
Get the compressor unless you have a perfect memory and won't let the bags...

I will ask why you think the brakes are overheating though.
In almost circumstances the FWD will have significantly better traction than a rear wheel drive pickup. And better fuel use too. Unless you need to tow more than 2,000 pounds or drive in soft, deep sand or steep poor traction pitches you are gold!
I have not seen any empirical evidence suggesting that short oil changes do anything beyond costing money and wasting recourses.
If a catch can was the answer why did Ford go to the expense of adding port injection to the 3.5 EB, for instance?
I just don't see a way to trick DI.
If I buy a Maverick it will be when toppers are available for a realistic price. I like the extra height of the Snug Top but the price seems high.
I agree that the trim color topper looks good.
I'm a huge fan of Techron. It has cleaned varnish and gum in my outboard motors that brands X, Y and Z could not. Seafoam, RIP, needs to be put out pasture.
That said unless there is some sort of reversion pulling fuel to the back side of the inlet valve I can't imagine an additive (or good gas)...
