I'm confident mine will get built as I ordered in October, but I don't expect to see mine before July at the earliest. I have a 2018 Rav4 that I am paying on and will just keep driving it until it comes in. If I end up getting pushed to MY23 then I'll put in for one then and have more paid off on my car. I just want to get rid of my car before the Used Car bubble bursts. Right now I'm getting more for my car than I paid for it 4 years ago new. Crazy!

Actually, I've been looking around and am seriously underwhelmed by what else is on the market. I guess I'd go with a frontier but the reason I hadn't already bought one is because it's bigger and more expensive than what I need.

There is a guy locally who drives a 90's era toyota pickup that is 4wd, extend cab and lifted with big tires. It's basically a proto-maverick because it's pretty much the same configuration. It's more or less exactly what I want, but he ain't selling though. The mav is newer, nicer, rides better, etc and I would really just rather get my mav.

So, as it sits my order is confirmed but that is all - I am already thinking it is going to be close to six months so I am hopeful. I have confidence in the dealer where my order went through but, I have also started looking around for other vehicles - it is a virtual desert out there almost to the point of frustration. I got lucky this past summer when I walked onto a Subaru lot and drove off in a new Crosstrek which is now the woman's car. I made a hasty decision and sold my 2020 Civic to buy a Mav which leaves me my venerabe '06 F-150 until I can get the Maverick. I started looking at other choices and they are not available either - Toyota Tacoma TRD, Rav4 TRD, Nissan Frontier. Everything is pre-sold if I find one. Just curious what your back up plan is if you can't get a Maverick right now?
Bicycling, Share Rides and staying home... damn near insane - however the cycling has been great to "get back into" and enjoyable for the most part! I am staying the course until 1 ordered is available!

Keep my 2018 Chevy volt and continue getting 800+ miles per tank. I’m fine with waiting but I will walk away if they convert my order to MY23. Fool me once!

Certainly an interesting time right now in the transportation world. Personally I would hold out as long as possible ( Im talking a few years ) I wouldn't want an Ecoboost Maverick only for the mpg. Here's my prediction - The chip and labor shortage will ease and more new vehicles will be produced. There WILL be more competition. Ford basically released a product with no current competition. Hyundai certainly has some drivetrains that could be converted to electric or hybrid in a small truck. Chevrolet probably will try and counter with something in that market segment. Ram - same there. There will be alternatives it just going to be a bit. The Maverick is a great package and one day there will be an all electric model but they wont be the only player in this field. The biggest reason there hasn't and isnt any competition in the small truck market is the "chicken tax" from 1964 imposed by LBJ to protect US car makers from competition from imported pickup small trucks - mainly Toyota at the time. There are many small pickups that could be brought in right now to the US -like the Ram 700 or others except for the 25% tariff imposed by the government. the Link below on that one As an example, you can purchase the Ram 700 ( A fiat Strada ) in Mexico starting at $12,000. and it gets 38 mpg with a 1.3 liter engine. LOL

Keep driving my 126,000 miles 2012 Chevy Colorado that gets 21 mpg on a good day. Ordered my hybrid with only a drop in bed liner on October 30and don’t expect it until May-August. If it becomes a 2023 model, my dealer will honor the 2022 price.

No because it hasn't passed any US tests. Pretty sure you still have to pay import duties as well. Only exemption is military if purchased while on duty.

I got mine but my backup plan was a Corolla Hybrid/Hyundai Elantra SE. Considering both of those vehicles have a minimum 5k markup at any dealer within 300 miles of me, I probably would have kept my money and continued driving my beater 99 Benz with almost 300k miles.

keep driving my 97 BMW 540i 6speed, I love it but its dying a slow death and I've put too much time and money into it to sell it. Just blew the clutch slave cylinder the other day and had to tow it back home on the way to work....hoping to God it can last a few more months until the Mav gets in.

Change that slave cylinder and get a more reliable E90 325/328/330!
