"Above Retail" makes no sense. Retail is what it's selling for, NOT MSRP, not even the same thing.

Go order a 2022 Hybrid now for MSRP. Oh right, you cant. If you want a 2022 Hybrid, they are sold out. Youre going to pay what the "market" demands. Economics 101. If I have something that no one else can get, Im going to ask what it's worth, not what the original MSRP was. Do you think restored 1978 Camaro sold for what MSRP was from back in 1978?
Again your comparing it to a car that is no longer produced. Your argument is dead lol

If you wanna be a sucker and pay above sticker go for it. but I'll wait for my build and not impatiently pay over sticker just to get myself in a maverick. And where I live there are base hybrids available so if you're paying above. You're being taken advantage of and you're a sucker. End of story.

They no longer produce the 2022 Maverick Hybrid. I meant exactly what I said.
Really because a bunch of people are waiting for their 22 hybrids to be build so idk what you're talking about. Order might be cut off but they're absolutely still producing them

Base Maverick Hybrids on the lot, un-picked up for MSRP? Show me. Incredibly unlikely except for some fringe cases here and there. Custom orders not included of course because those were already ordered. You still havent answered my question. Can you, right now, go order a 2022 Hybrid?

What part of "Sold out" do you not understand? Youre being pedantic at this point.

That's besides the point dude. You're comparing a cut off order date to a car from the 70s saying people will pay what they want and that's what it's worth. They're out there for sticker price. And people paying over are SUCKERS. I live in metro Detroit and have gotten calls from 3 dealerships asking if I was interested. Your point is invalid. But go ahead and spend more money than I am for the same car 😂

Ok. What dealers? Who are selling them off the lot for MSRP. Ill call them, easy enough for me to do if its true. Im sure there might be a few fringe cases here and there, but Im also sure the vast majority of existing 2022 Hybrids are already sold and spoken for, and any the dealers havent sold, the vast majority are selling for above MSRP. Hence, "Supply nd Demand"

How does demand and supply affect the economy?

It's a fundamental economic principle that when supply exceeds demand for a good or service, prices fall. When demand exceeds supply, prices tend to rise. ... However, when demand increases and supply remains the same, the higher demand leads to a higher equilibrium price and vice versa.

LMAO dude- Justify spending above retail however you want for a vehicle you can get at sticker for if you do the work and research to find dealerships not taking advantage of a temporary supply chain issue due to a pandemic. BE MY GUEST. However Ill save my money and pay under retail happily by way of A plan and student discounts :) stay sucker free oddball

I dunno I see an awful lot of folks here, still waiting on or trying to get a 2022 Hybrid without waiting for 2023 production year who would beg to differ.

Again- if you are willing to pay above sticker for a vehicle that IS out there if you searched hard enough you're being taken advantage of and i feel sorry for ya. Seeing as I am getting my exact build and Ill be paying below sticker- I see zero justification for paying more. If your reasoning is its HARD to find or you are impatient then you are a sucker. End of story. You cannot compare prices of products that are no longer build/out of production to a brand new car (even if cut off for builds are done on 22). Production is still happening, and yes majority are customer builds however dealerships get x number of builds a month or year so some of those are intended for lots. So if you work hard enough you absolutely can find your build at MSRP. But impatience works in the favor of dealerships looking to pick your pockets.

I'd placed an order for a Maverick last weekend so when I got a call from my salesman today, I thought that maybe he had a question or something. Turns out someone had backed out of their order and he was asking if I wanted to take it. Sure will I told him. Just got home with my Area 51 Lariat Maverick. Wasn't planning on getting that trim level, but I decided to pay the extra cash rather than wait for my order. Haven't had any time to do anything other than drive it home so looks like I'll be having fun checking out the pickup tomorrow at work lol
Did I see you last night in Kahului? I was the guy who came by the dealer just before dark as yall were walking away from a Bronco?

Is this a Lariat Luxury or not? Does it have heated seats? B&O audio?

Also this supply and demand argument is stupid. Yes, it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. No, no one should pay more than MSRP. The Maverick Hybrid is not a necessity. You can find MSRP deals on other cars.. BUY OTHER CARS. I cannot wrap my mind around who wants a Maverick at "market" rates, thousands of dollars over sticker. What good does buying a Hybrid do? How many miles does it take to re-coup $5000 ADM in gas savings from the hybrid vs the EB? I'd be damned if I want the Maverick or any other vehicle on this planet for any amount of ADM.

This stuff is just ridiculous. Hard to congratulate anyone on being completely taken for a ride. My special paint color Lariat Luxury Hybrid MSRP is $31,360 (my price is $29,300 once it is delivered). That means at a minimum the OP paid $5,000 ADM. Congratulations? OK.

The Maverick is a hugely appealing vehicle up to $30,000 at which point the appeal diminishes rapidly with every additional dollar. It is very much a price-point vehicle. It's designed and built to be cheap.

Im not jealous you paid 3k above msrp for a XL. lol.
Apologies for not reading it correctly. But anyone that pays over MSRP is a sucker. Regardless of when you got your truck. Congratulations . Justify it however youd like claiming youll make that back in savings. You got suckered to pay above MSRP. The dealership is smiling.
He's smiling because he loves his new truck and can afford it. You're smiling because you enjoy being smug and self-satisfied. The dealership is smiling because they made good margin to make up for low sales volume.

Sounds like everybody wins!
