Ok I saw one thread with people getting 34+ MPG with their AWD. We picked up my Wife’s Maverick XLT AWD on December 23rd, she's put 850+ miles on it and is only getting 19.2 MPG at the moment. She's 60 % Highway (average speed 70 to 75 MPH) and she's using 87 octane. What are you all getting in realistic daily driving and what octane are you using? Thank you all in advance for your info and any recommendations you can share. Lou

Mine is getting a little better than that, but I'm about 95% city driving. I picked up mine at the end of November and only have 700 miles. I only live about 7 miles from work but it's all residential, stop lights/signs and hills between here and there. I lean more toward the "Boost" than the "Eco" side of the engine so far anyway (it's just fun). I did notice the few times I got on the highway for any good amount of time that the average starts going up pretty quickly. I reset one time before I got on the highway and was seeing in the 30's for about half an hour before I hit traffic. Also only run 91+ Octane.

I’m about the same driving % breakdown and Ive put 2200 on my Lariat FX4 and have been hovering right at 25mpg +/- .5. That’s with 87 octane and I’m in KY so it’s a little hilly where I am.

You using 87 or 93 octane? And cool that's what we were expecting too. Thank you

Cool, thank you (I keep saying 93 but it must be 91 I was thinking of, senior moments)

mine is not AWD and has 1500 miles on it since november and i have never reset gage. 87 octane only and i see 26.9 to 27.2 fluctuation in 100% mixed daily driving. i'm a good driver and at the racetrack i have fun trying to set the fastest lap times. on the street the only thing recorded is with that gage so i drive to keep it high.
EDIT: the one day my wife drove it a few weeks ago the mileage shown had dropped to about 24 but built back up to the same average it had shown over time. it was the first vehicle with an automatic she has driven in about 15 years so she definitely was on a learning curve.

I would hope you'all are doing the fuel economy calculation manually, as the meters can overestimate substantially. I've found (in my last 3 cars, I don't have a Maverick yet!) that the more starts and stops on a tank, the greater the overestimation on MPG, up to 3.5 MPG.

Absolutely, she fills up weekly and we just calculate the MPG by our stats not the trucks computer (even though we know that computers don’t lie but they can be programmed to;)

Averaging 25.5mpg in normal mode, but I try not to exceed 70 mpg on the highway, I keep the auto start engaged, and I do not race off from a stop. If she is doing the opposite of those things, her mpg will <20mpg.

About 26-27 all round driving per tank, FWD eco. If I feather foot it and coast I can get 30+. If I put it in sport mode and drive more spirted, its low 20's. I'm still breaking it in so i'm doing a bit of everything currently, but my main MPG counter since I got the truck is 25-26. Only 87 octane so far.
