Ahhhh I see what you mean. True the sides are wide open too, I totally overlooked that. Thanks .
I think the base of the tailgate is the primary culprit. When I went through the car wash almost all the soapy water was actually in the channels underneath my bed mat.

Cool…but the way this stripping is… would that make it non-visible from the outside? Unlike Ringos posted stripping?
yeah. It won't be along the seam, so it won't be visible when the gate is closed. I think he was going for a truly airtight seal. While I'd love that, I'm just hoping to at least get enough of a plug that it'll knock down the airflow and water intrusion a bit. It's pretty much free flow now.

Same issue here. But for what i want it i can live with it. I expect water to get in when i go thru car washes but i think itll do a good job while raining. Had to adjusted and be very precise to where the seal by window barely touches the back windo part of the bed and the. By the tailgate the weather strips somewhat seal it. Only want a cover for storing things when i go to the store and such. Never permanently have things in the bed. I can live with it.

I have some bad news. I have had the Gator SFX for about 3 weeks and it leaks pretty bad. It is also cut to short in my opinion. I was pretty disappointed. They said I could return it and sent a shipping label, but I'm on the fence. I really need a cover for tools, but the water issue is crazy annoying.

I will be carrying tools in mine also but I have them in bins first to keep them clear of any elemental impact. they are easier to handle and I can stack things on the bins if needed. Almost thinking of making a drawer system for the bed.

Yeah I love to travel with our daughter in our Maverick, but I like having some protection from elements for all our luggage and gear, and keeping items contained in the bed without worry it will fly out unintentionally. Seriously disappointing. Our 17 year old F150 had a Tyger brand cover from Amazon and the most violent car wash couldn’t get that thing to leak. What were these people thinking who designed this?

yep mine is same ford/truxedo brand from ford accessories and seems like a lot of the other companies offering soft rollup covers have same "too short" issues... however it does keep rain snow weather out just not the car wash pressure soapy water.

I'm not to concerned about it. No tonneau cover is 100% water tight or secure & I don't have tools or other items stored in the bed. I plan on using bins for anything I carry, like camping gear, etc, just in case. For me, it's more cosmetic. The cover I want and will eventually get, is over $1,000 but for now I'm going easy on the pocket book. Thanks for the heads up though I'll make sure I keep things elevated
