I have an older (circa 2006) Sirius portable unit that’s associated with a lifetime subscription. Problem is the Maverick doesn’t have an Aux input and I don’t want to deal with the FM transmitter option since it’s not always reliable as you travel. Are there any adapters out there that would enable either Bluetooth or USB for these older units?

I have purchased and tried two aux 3.5mm to USB-C two-way adapters that are supposed to convert analog to digital and digital to analog with no success. The bluetooth transmitter disabled my phone connection. I have an old flip phone with bluetooth and most of the Ford's Radio interface works with it. It syncs contacts, recent calls, etc. The voice command buttons tries to interface with my phone but since the phone doesn't support it, that's all it does is try.

Well, my friend, I'm not sure what else may work for you other than, perhaps, updating to a more modern phone. If it makes you feel any better, my dad was just like you - holding onto his old flip phone for the longest time. He finally broke down and got a smartphone when they stopped supporting the ruggedized flip phone he had. He later admitted, after having it for a few weeks, that he was really happy with it and mad at himself for putting off for so long because he thought he wasn't going to "understand" it. But he picked it up pretty quickly and I would imagine that if he can, you could as well. He is about the least tech savvy guy I know.

Can you possibly get a more modern phone which will accept the sim card which is in your flip phone as the lifetime subscription is (???) Associated to the sim card and not the phone itself.(I expect, but I am an almost older guy who wrote a program for an ibm 370 to emulate dialing a rotary phone).🤔. Maybe a question for your carrier?

Thanks, just not interested in all the distractions an iPhone presents. I chose my flip phone for a solid purpose. The flip phone does not have a lifetime subscription, it's an old XM Xact satellite radio.

I've grown up in the computer world, and am an Electrical Engineer that is very much used to tech. Using the old flip phone is a choice. I managed Construction for an Engineering Company for years and traveled worldwide. Obviously, an iPhone was necessary for my job. Now, I don't want the features nor the connection, plus, we live in a rural world where cell service is something to be desired. I can get 1 bar of service at my house with the flip phone, and my wife gets no service on her iPhone.

There are lots of unrealized conditions for making choices that people just don't seem to be think about. But thanks for the suggestion.

Not saying iphone. Buy any phone/device which will accept the sim card that is in the flip phone. That sim card serial # is probably the the "grandfathered" Id for your "lifetime service". I believe Motorola is making a new version of flip phone? Will it work? What phones will? Might be a question for the any brand repair guy? One big problem could be caused by the old sim card being tied to frequencies which (in part) may have been reassigned for 4g lte/5g?. Have you asked if your grandfathered service can be transferred to new type phone (some of which are dedicated to "dumbed down" style? There are lots of possibilities, I think. Good luck!

Hummmmmmm...guess he didn't see, "The flip phone does not have a lifetime subscription, it's an old XM Xact satellite radio."

Guys, I appreciate all the great unsolicitated suggestions, and as I've explained many times in these forums. I don't want a smart phone, iPhone, Android, Samsung, new Motorola, or anything else. I have what I want. Which is my old Cingular/ATT flip phone. My truck is configured like I want with the Commander Touch SiriusXM. Are there things I'm researching—Yes. That's the fun of owning something new. It's called discovery. So thanks again.

You could try this. I'm curious if this would work.
