Hey all -

Has anyone else experienced a "grinding" sensation/feeling when pressing on the brake pedal? Curious if this is something to be expected during break-in, or if this is something I need to go back to my dealer with.

It's not antilock kicking in? Is it every time or only under certain conditions?

Doesnt sound right. Get it checked out, you dont want to be second guessing your brakes.

Is this after periods of sitting especially when moisture has been present? The rotors will develop slight oxidation and will briefly make noise until a couple of brake applications scrub the surface clean again.
No, it seems to be persistent. Granted, I've only had the truck since Monday, but I've noticed it pretty much every time I drive it.

Take a look at your rotors. Are there visible score marks on the inside or outside? Could be something as simple as a rock or debris stuck between one of the pads.

If there are no score marks, try a couple of higher speed hard brake applications to try and scrub the pads clean. I don't know what type of pads come standard but depending on what they are, they could be noisy for the first hundred miles or so.

Did I miss if you said hybrid or EB? The regenerative braking feels like grinding to me.

I'll have to check that out. Appreciate the input!

If you suspect that it's a rock, drive it in reverse while tapping the brake. First lightly and then harder. This generally works to remove the rock the way it got in.

A single pad might have been put in backwards [metal side in], or cocked or the wear warning clip might have been bent in. I've seen all happen over the years. If in the rear, everything feels OK, just the noise when you hit the brakes! Car still will stop fine,---- for a while!

right. mine does the same thing. if it's sat a little bit and damp out sounds like the front passenger side brake is grinding. after a couple minutes of driving it seems to go away. thinking of taking it in to get looked at
