Just wanted to report on a trip I took to Vegas. On way out went through the middle of the states and on way back went north to Montana then brought hwy 2 all the way back to St Ignas, MI.

This is a pic of my trip indicator. I was very happy with the Maverick Hybrid. I have the base LTD, very comfortable on 500 mile days. Temps ranged from 80 to 113 in Vegas. I only had 1500 miles on it when I left. Changed the oil and oil life monitor now says 56%. Cost of gas for trip was approx $600.00.

Have to say I am super pleased with truck.

Highway 2 from Montana to the UP? Wow that must have been an interesting trip. Might be a future adventure when I go to Montana again. For us Ecoboost guys & gals, how was the gas station placement along that route?

I don't think there was a distance of more than 100 miles between gas. I wanted to get on Hwy 2 at Nalispell Montana but the fires caused me to get on further east. So I came up the west side of Yellowstone . I got on 2 at Malta Montana and from there through North Dakota was pretty much rolling fields. Didn't start to see a lot of trees again till Minnesota .

I would say majority of miles were between 55 and 65. Stayed on two lane roads 90 percent of time except when I left Vegas and headed north I took I 15 north for about 700 miles, then would be 70 to 75.

I get about the same in Texas on the highways, I cruise at 67mph and get around 35mpg

Must have been Kalispell, Montana. Hwy 2 is a great back country I use all the time heading east west thru Kalispell.

1040 miles/hr ... wow you were flying through that trip! :ROFLMAO: what total hours of driving did you have? Should have been around 90 or so total hours. Very nice trip and glad you got out to enjoy the countryside in the Maverick!

Cathy and I started from SE WI, then to Superior and HY 2 thru Devils Lake then Cody WY. 2 is a great drive! We have done from Mackinac to Duluth several times! Our trip ended at 6000 miles of open high desert and mountain passes. Our 2 liter Ecoboost bested 30 MPG at 65-70 MPH and 25 at 80. The Adaptive cruise control handled long steep downhills perfectly with no extra input from me!

What's cool is US 2 is a major highway that I believe runs from Washington State to somewhere in New York State, but it's in two sections. US 41 is a major highway that runs from copper harbor in the upper peninsula of Michigan to Miami, Florida. And if I am not mistaken they merge (run concurrently ) in only two counties in the entire country and I live in one of them. Pretty cool in a way.

I ran Hwy 2 years ago in my Lincoln Mark VIII
I found it to be annoying it felt like every time you got cruising you hit a town
Lots of restaurant and fuel stop options but took forever to pile on miles
