IMO, not sure I would want to pull out a 3k+ lb pontoon boat (on a "possible" smooth slippery wet moss laden boat ramp) and trailer combo with even my 4k tow Maverick.
Maybe a small fishing boat with a 20hp Merc or a couple of jetskis on a jetski trailer?

The Mav in this video is not a hybrid. Can tell you from my own experience in my FX4, Sand Mode absolutely biases more power to the rear wheels. Was testing it out in a snowy field and the driving dynamic I experienced aligned more with that of a RWD. The AWD monitor screen also corroborated this power split between front and rear.
I've noted the same. Also, even with the driver in video using normal mode, he isn't giving enough time for the AWD system to work the brakes to improve traction. As soon as the tires start to slip he backs off, rather than continuing to apply power until the system works it out.

I have driven several different AWD vehicles over the years. It doesn't make sense it didn't apply power to the rear wheels which did not spin. Something is off with this video. If one front and one rear spun I might believe it.
AWD only no 4WD lock or rear diff lock. Front tire spinning and I'd bet the unseen rear also at times. As light as some pontoon barges can be that one is 18 or 20 feet with a bigger engine. Near maxed out even with the optional 4K towing.

Hard to see if the rears are moving.. Wonder if he slapped FX4 stickers on it. Or not in sand mode...

I haven't pulled a boat or pulled one out of a ramp in many years, but I never had any issues. Of course I always had a truck or car that would pull one. I never had 4x4 to do the job. I also would have gotten everyone out if I was having issues. Why pull an extra 600 pounds or more? I am counting 3 women and 1 dude. He was pulling over the max weight without the people.
