Reason for Dong sound?

Yes, a “dong” sound, not a “ding” and it’s just once everytime I start one and always just a few minutes of driving.

Hello,

New here and to owning my first Ford Maverick Tremor being a slightly used 2025 however have noticed various issues that are concerning, first one being, what is causing an interior dong sound (1x only) just after driving a few minutes every time I start out?

You have anything stored under the back seat? I was getting the same thing as I drove off / taking a corner . When I went to investigate I found my small air compressor I put in there was rolling around. I put a towel down and that stopped the dong sound for me . If you are referring to something suspension system related I haven't experienced anything like that on my FX4 ( non Tremor)

It dongs at me when I'm using the advanced cruise control with the lane assist and the camera loses the lane markers. Only problem with that theory is that you said there is no warning on the center screen? Try turning off the lane assist with the button on the steering wheel and see if it still dongs at you. Maybe the lane-assist-lost-the-lane dong works but for some reason there is no visual warning on the dash?

If you are using the advanced cruise and when there are no vehicles in front of you, you will get a single alert, bing, bang , or bong, and it will say CANCELLED . No vehicles in front of you.

Mine doesn't make any sound when no vehicles within range. It simply stops displaying the vehicle image in the center of the lane markers. The only time I get an audio alert is when lane centering, which I usually turn off, loses the shoulder lines such as an off ramp or a right turn lane bump out on the road.

It's probably something that can be silenced in the menu.

I get a “click” sound every drive as the doors auto lock. About 30 seconds after driving. Probably a setting. If there is a dong alert for that - I would have turned it off.

Took me over a week to get all the settings to my liking. Hopefully won’t get reset because I forgot what I did!

Thanks, not using cruise control in the City however lane assist is on but I was told it doesn’t take effect until after you’re over 64 km/h which I’m definitely not. I’ll try turning lane assist off anyway and see, hear for it.

Thanks, have GPS tracker but it doesn’t engage until you notify them that your vehicle has been stolen and then they turn it on. They do that so when thieves are scanning for devices they don’t find any.

Depending on which map I have selected, I get a dong when approaching a school zone.

Thanks but my Ford is not connected, no Ford Connect and no Ford Pass because my iPad iOS won’t go to v17.5 that Ford require and they don’t have a work around. Not happy with Ford!

Welcome to the club and congrats on the 2025 Tremor!
Pay attention to your dashboard screen the exact next time it happens—sometimes, a tiny icon or message flashes for just a split second when it dongs. And perhaps a short video of it would help to. And the rules of being new guy you have to share pics of your new Tremor!

Thanks but I’ve tried consistently however seen nothing. I also don’t have a red flashing security light showing that the Ford security is active but was told it doesn’t have one. Not happy with Ford!

Nice Tremor! I would take it back to Ford and have them fix the issues for you since you just got it. Did it have a clean Carfax on it? Why are you not happy?

Thanks, that’s why I purchased it but traded in my terrific Jeep Wrangler to get it but only due to health reasons. Not happy because it doesn’t have certain features that are suppose to be with the truck according my research here in Canada before purchasing. And the quality of the materials are subpar compared to my ex-Jeep.
The dealership is done answering my questions now that they took my money. It was hard enough getting answers to my initial questions before the purchase having to constantly hound them! Stuck with it now though even though it sounded good on paper! Sorry everyone, here is probably not the place to complain…

Sorry about your health issue. Not true tho you have a 2025 under full warrenty unless she has high miles, goto another Ford dealer perhaps.

We traded in an 8 month old 2025 Rubicon Unlimited on our Maverick. The Jeep was an absolutely terrible traveling vehicle and we do a number of 1,000+ mile trips per year and we’re both in our 70’s so the lane assistance and more comfortable ride is very important to us. Sorry to hear about your health issues..
My apologies for my flippant comment earlier. I hope you find your dong or bong sound..
