Has anyone found a way to enable trailer side view without a trailer connected? I know it works with a trailer connected to the 7 Pin outlet. I have not checked with just a 4 Pin trailer connected, so I am not sure what enables the cameras. I'm thinking it is when the Trailer Brake senses a connection.

I have a 2026 Lariat Hybrid, with 4K Tow package.

Thanks. I tried to search first but must not have had the search terms correct.
Russ,
You may consider sending a DM to the posters in the other thread.
And see if they've come up with anything that they haven't gotten around to posting yet. You never know🤷‍♂️

1) Press the camera button
2) in the top left corner of the screen, you'll see a white button, press it to select different views (front, rear, trailer split view, etc)

In case anyone is wondering.......
I installed a lighted trailer hitch cover and connected it to the 4 pin plug. Now when I turn on my blinkers, the camera on my mirror shows the side blind spot.
I did lose the rear parking sensors when in reverse, but still have the camera.

Nice. I like the side view.
By sensors, do you mean the white backup lines?
I understand you have the side view camera.
Did you also lose your BLIS Blind Lane information system?

No, just the backup sensors that beep when you get close to an object. Still have Bliss, cross traffic warning, and lane centering. I did add information to the trailer tab and set it for the lowest settings. 3 foot length, 1 foot wide, and 1 foot tall.

Wait, the middle screen shows the side camera view when you hit the blinker in reverse with a trailer connected?

I've never noticed this. I guess I never signal when backing up a trailer ...

On my 2026 Lariat Hybrid with 4K Tow (not sure what options activate this feature), when you turn on the blinker with a trailer attached, the camera on the side mirror shows the side "blind spot" on the sync screen.
I liked this view but it only worked with a trailer connected, so I added a lighted hitch cover to make the truck think it had a trailer connected. Now the camera on the mirror displays the side view on the display any time I turn on the blinker.

I've got the same, but 2025. Does this only happen in reverse, or does it happen in drive also?

On a different topic, I've noticed is that the "trailer aware" BLIS only works on the passenger side. On the driver's side, the BLIS doesn't light up until the passing car gets within 3 feet of the truck ... It doesn't monitor the trailer's length. Anyone else?
