On a base Maverick XL (with ECOBOOST) does it have the Brake Hold feature whereby when your stop at a light you can remove your foot fron the brake and the truck will just sit there until you hit thr gas. Also does it include the rear view camera, thanks

Yes my XL comes with a rear camera when you back up it comes on automatically and there is a feature called Auto stop where the engine shuts off when you come to a stop. What is more surprising it comes with collision detection where it gives a warning and it will brake automatically if you didn’t at first. A feature I didn’t expect on the XL trim.. Plus tire pressure, auto head lights, modem and remote start if you install the FordPass app on your cell phone

Auto stop is Ford version of auto hold !!

Auto stop is not auto hold.

It does have hold, there is a button on the console, even on XL trim.
Rear view cameras are regulated by the government and must equipped.

Wow, your correct there is Auto hold, kinda redundant with Auto stop but it does work thanks.. mode select, traction control, auto stop and auto hold. I’m so surprised!!

After testing auto stop and auto hold they are two different functions. Auto stop only turns off engine then if you let go of the brakes it auto start. Auto hold will allow you to let go of the brakes at a stop but not on reverse!! This is a XL Ecoboost and I just learn a feature it has this whole time ! I love this forum thanks to all

My Acura has a brake hold and I won’t buy another vehicle without it. I have slight neuropathy in my feet and up to now had issues once and awhile of my foot sliding off the pedals. I just wish it could be the standard mode were you have to turn it off instead of selecting it every time you get into the vehicle.

No, engine start stop is not the same.

How did you think ā€œholdā€ and ā€œstopā€ mean the same thing? Lol.

Edit - reading your out loud thought process finding out about the two different functions was great. Glad you learned something.

I’ve had auto hold on all my cars, - same here with Acura. Couldn’t go back. Such a great feature!

I’ve had my XL for a couple months now and just within the past few weeks discovered how much I like auto hold which holds the brakes every time you stop. It stays on between drives so you don’t have to reselect it like the auto stop for the engine. The slightest touch to the accelerator releases the brakes.

You’ll also like the auto headlights and that the wipers will turn on the headlights.

Like someone mentioned the XL does have collision avoidance warning as well and I’ve had it trigger a couple times if traffic is accelerating from a light and the car ahead hits brakes to turn. 1st time it surprised me. Then I liked it

The drive mode selector will start in normal every time so if you are experimenting with eco or sport for example, know that you have to reselect it on each engine start.

The last of the 4 switches, traction control, I’ve only turned off to learn that with the front wheel drive maverick while it’s no ā€˜60’s muscle car…
Yes Virginia the Maverick 2.0 will spin the tires.

Thanks for the info! Especially about the brake hold, maybe it is just Acura who has it backwards for engaging? It sounds like Ford got it wrong with the Drive Mode Selector thou..

That's just a reality of EPA/CAFE standards. If there's a less fuel efficient setting that persists between starts then it's averaged with the standard drive mode when they certify mileage.
