Does anyone else in here find themselves putting your lobo in sport mode all the time? I love this little truck its so fun to drive and even stock handles so well. I have the burger JB4 tuner on mine and i find my self constantly filling with 4 gals of E85 and topping it off with 91. I wish we had 93 out of the pump here in central cali but california gas is crap. The truck is fun to blast around town and even funner when i head up to the mountains and rail it around corners. I cant wait to do some suspension mods to help handling a little more. I have 3500 miles on it just did a full service. Replaced stock oils with ams except for the RDU that went back stock. Both RDU and PTU were underfilled so I got the levels filled correctly. My wife drove the truck to work the week before i changed oils she seems to think its smother now. I might do a full goodwin upgrade and I am thinking about doing the EV Mustang Brake swap. I'll wait on the tires I am having fun wearing these out.

Are there any upgrades you have done to your Lobo that have been a must? Something changed or upgraded and thought ..... shit thats way better.

Never could figure why some never exceed 3000 rpm, then complain about carbon buildup and turbo problems!
Mind explaining "Replaced stock oils with ams" has me thinking Amsoil. I have a Tremor ordered and use Amsoil in my 2017 F150 but Amsoil SS at my last change did not have the latest specification listed WSS-M2C971-A1.

Tires.

By far the biggest performance upgrade per dollar on these trucks.

More grip, shorter braking distances, better turn-in, and more confidence everywhere. Nothing else you can bolt on will have as much impact on real-world performance as a good set of summer tires.

3,000 roflmao !
My Ecoboost gets Horney when I let her breathe above 5,000.
You need to try the sweet spot.
That’s 5,250 rpm’s where the Hp and Tq numbers meet on every engine.
Thats the Italian tune up arena !
Just do it, your engine will love you for it.

But not everyone can get off the porch.

Amsoil is bullshit marketing but hey it’s not my money.
I’ve done more than a half a million trouble free miles on one engine without fancy oils.
Did 394,000 on cheap roach oil,
Several engines taken way past 300,000 hard commercial duty miles without highly marketed oils.

I don’t do soap samples.

Royal purple,
Slick 50,
Amsoil,
All great marketing, makes me shake my head in absolute wonder.
I ran Harley oil in my Harley, why ?
Why not ?
The empty cans were kinda dark and hard to see at 100-125 yards. Hitting them with a nine or the 45 was great fun.

Doing your Italian tuneups @ 5000 rpm, you don’t keep the rpm’s up that high for long, or does “Pepper” like it long! 😉 Seriously tho, 5-10 seconds? 🤔

Yes, I drive my Lobo exclusively in Sport Mode. Not only does it automatically disable the start/start - it turns the “fake” AWD into a “Subaru Full Time” torque vectoring AWD.

I also drive my Lobo exclusively in “M” using the paddle shifters. Driving in Sport & using paddles is the way the Maverick Lobo was meant to be driven.

I let mine hit those high notes.
She loves to sing all the way up to 7000 rpm.
Great breath control thanks to CVF and and a Ford Corsair turbo.

Put the thing in Low, button on the dial.
I can hit and hold 5,000 at sane safe speeds.
Pulling up to 5k is so fracking fun !
Sport mode is handy when not in Low.

Thought you referred to Amsoil the reason I asked, no argument to make as there are plenty of great oils on the market. I do live in WI and Amsoil is in Superior WI so I do buy it and it is a very good oil particularly for turbo DI engines. My 2.7 regularly sees 6200 RPM, just waiting on my new Maverick Tremor to be delivered to find it's happy RPM.

I completely agree that there is a ton of oil marketing. But I will say that Amsoil is not bullshit marketing. They are a serious oil manufacturer. And they do a ton of research and innovation. The way they sell it is silly though with anyone wishing to be a dealer can buy into it and resell it.

But it’s the real deal.

Al Amatuzio was a WWII fighter pilot and they planes at the time were using synthetic oil developed for the military. When he got out he started researching synthetic oils and the rest is history.
