Solution! Go buy an $85,000 GMC pickup like my neighbor, then it can play music to you while you dance up the steps into the bed of your pickup.

There is an old saying; "Some people would bitch if they got hung with a new rope".

That depicts quie a few people who post questions and comments in this forum.

Do I hear an AMEN for the Ford Maverick?
😅

That bumper step is a trim level feature on other trucks. Base models never have them.
The Silverado and Colorado in their work truck trim even do the bumper or side step or both. Is there a lower trim than that? My guess is with the low height they decided against spending the time and money to go with it on the Mav. The Colorado has that more pronounced bulge for the back wheels which means that step doesn't stand out as much (see pic). But the corner bumper seems an easy choice.

I've had a couple times I had to jump in (moving a couple couches, had to climb in to arrange them while my wife pushed them in), but I'm 6'3" so it's just a bit of a step up for me.

There's also the fact that GM has the patent and trademark on those bumpers they changed the design slightly and keep renewing the patent. Means that Ford can't touch anything close to it, without infringing upon it. That and the Maverick is pretty low.

Why would you need a step for a vehicle so low to the ground? A 4"11 woman can reach over the bed.
Some of us have disabilities or mobility challenges. If someone askes a question, they want an answer.

Funny.... my OEM Ford F250 Crew Cab 4X4 has steps on the ends of the bumper....
