I just bought Continental Tour 54 tires for my 23 Hybrid . Supposed low rolling resistant tech Rated 80K miles too.

My speedometer was off 2 miles an hour. Said 60 but really 58. drove me crazy Fixed in forscan
Just wondering how your liking the Continental Tour 54 tires? Also what tire did your 23 hybrid come with and how do these Conti's compare (mpg, noise, etc)?

The tires seem to ride well and are about as quite as factory tires were. MPG I really cant tell.

The factory tires were the

I agree that the Continentals leave a lot to be desired. My factory equipment Goodyear Wrangler Territory HT tires had almost as much tread at 30,000 miles as the Continentals that are brand new from the factory. Even at 42,000 miles my Goodyear tires have significantly more tread than a customer's Continentals with 20,000 miles. Since the Goodyear tires that come on my 2025 with the black appearance package are doing so well, I recommend them to anyone who wants a long life tire but doesn't want to pay a premium price
Appreciate the recommendation. I usually just replace with whatever came with the truck (Michelin Primary), but good to hear other's opinions and recommendations.

People who drive like jerks tend to slag the factory tires, so ignore the morons. All of the factory tires will get 60k miles if you drive properly. 100k tires cost mileage with thicker tread. With the excepton of the Tremor, the factory tires are all very good for mileage. Aftermarket with aggressive tread, wider footprint and deeper tread all suck more fuel. I'm partial to Michelins with a quieter and softer ride, but the Contis are also pretty good. The Goodyears are also maybe good, but I can't say since I have not had them.
This didn't age well.

I’m on Pirelli Scorpion A 3’s and they in my not so humble opinion far surpass the Defender in every category as far as I can Feel and hear.

Crack seal roads are quiet,
Great hydroplaning resistance,
Wonderful feel, especially at 38 psi
Wet traction is outstanding.
Won’t know about snow till December.

I did come across the tirerack info you linked to for the TrueContact Tour 54's in my research. They look like a great tire and would hopefully suit our 23 Escape AWD Hybrid well. Here are some other tires I have on my shortlist if anyone is interested. I'm paying attention to the weight of the tire as we really don't want to lose any mpg's if we can help it.

The below specs are for 225/60R/18 tire size

OEM Michelin Primacy A/S Weight: 26lbs Mileage Rating: 55K Tread level: 8/32
Winter rating on Tirerack: 6.4 Fair(the higher the better)
Recommend rating on Tirerack: 6.8 Good

Continental TrueContact Tour 54 Weight: 26lbs Mileage Rating: 80K Tread level 11/32
Winter rating on Tirerack: 8.0 Good
Recommend rating on Tirerack 8.7 Excellent

Continental CrossContack LX25 Weight 28lbs Mileage Rating: 70K Tread level 12/32
Winter rating on Tirerack: 8.3 Good
Recommend rating on Tirerack: 8.8 Excellent

Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 Weight: 28lbs Mileage Rating: 70K Tread level 11/32
Winter rating on Tirerack: 8.3 Good
Recommend rating on Tirerack 8.7 Excellent

General Altimax 45 Weight: 25lbs Mileage Rating: 75K Tread level 11/32
Winter rating on Tirerack: 7.7
Recommend rating on Tirerack 8.8 Excellent

It looks any tire I choose off this list should be a worthwhile replacement for the OEM Michelin Primacy's and most likely cheaper as well. Like I mentioned I'm most focused on the best overall all season tire without breaking the bank or hurting our fuel economy. If anyone has any comments on any of the tires I listed or other tires that aren't on my list please feel free to let me know. Hopefully this list will help out others here as well.

Yep, I like all those choices but Take note,
ALL the above tires got an excellent rating, all sold by The review controller,
Tire Rack.
Just saying,

I've had the Pirelli Scorpion AS3's for about 15,000 miles now and am still liking them. I didn't think the OE Conti TX was that bad, but the AS3's are basically just 1 better in steering, ride comfort and noise. Hydroplaning resistance is also excellent. We didn't really get enough snow in Nebraska this year to have a strong opinion on winter driving other than they get around in light snow fine, and have adequate ice braking. I did not notice an increase or decrease in fuel economy over the TX tires.

The one negative I have is that they are pretty sensitive to to being around 34-36 psi for optimum ride comfort on our crappy city roads. I would rather be comfortable though than run excess pressure trying to eek out a fraction of an MPG on smooth roads.

Was also looking at the Conti Tour 54 or tried and true Defender, but Sam's club has the Pirelli's for a good price installed.

Mine were noisier at 35 than at 38 psi cold.
Once warmed up my gage showed 41-42 psi. In these warm pressures exists a wonderfully quiet great handling responsive ride.
Try it for a week.

I do 37 front and 38 rear cold actually, Why Because In my mountain roads. I’m braking and turning far more than most. Front tires do more work and run One single psi more when warmed up.
Hence I show 41 in all four tires.

My gift of ADHD keeps me focused on the smallest of details. A small psi change is TP feels very obvious to me.

That is true. We have Discount Tire here which is where I normally get my tires as they will price match anyone. It just so happens that Discount Tire own's Tire Rack (they acquired them in 2021). I know your happy with your Pirelli Scorpion's but they are a touch heavier than the OEM Michelin Primacy's on our 23 Escape Hybrid. According to the Discount Tire website the Pirelli Scorpion's weight in at 30lbs in the 225/60/R18 size but per TireRack they 'only' weight 28lbs. It seems 28lbs is the correct weight as other sites are reporting that. Honestly the OEM Primacy's weight in at 26lbs so I'm not sure if an extra 2 pounds per tire will hurt mileage much at all. In the end it will probably come down to price for me as I'm thrifty:)

Glad to hear that the Pirelli Scorpion AS3's are treating you well. I am also eyeing the Continental TrueContact Tour 54's like you mentioned and they appear to be a strong contender to replace our OEM Michelin Primacy's. They weight in at the same 26lbs per tire as the OEM Michelin Primacy's in our size. The Pirelli Scorpion AS3's weight in at 28lbs per tire so 2 lbs heavier per tire but not sure how much difference that might make in the mpg department?

Note:
You can replace the 25.9 lb 18" OEM wheel with a rotary cast alloy wheel weighing less than 20 lbs!!! Sell the OEM wheels to someone with an xlt base get some $ back.
ALSO: Continental has during June 2026 (maybe extended) buy 4 get $110 off plus additional $90 off if put on Continental Tire Credit Card (MC?)
NOTE: Tire Rack also has wheel & Tire Package!!!

2 pounds more weight can be comped by a bit more tire pressure and an adjustment in the right foot movement of the human.
