This thread has prompted me to check my maverick. I found something similar but I don't want to remove anything unless I'm sure. My truck is financed, if that makes a difference.

If the modem has been disabled by pulling the fuse can the truck still be tracked? Assuming there is no after market tracker. ✌

When I was looking at my buying a Mav, I visited Corwin Ford in Pasco, Washington. I looked at the window sticker and saw they were charging $800 for the "built in" GPS tracker so your car can be recovered if stolen. They called it Corwin Connect. Not sure why I'd pay for that when FordPass already allows me to track my vehicle for free. They seemed very hesitant about removing the tracker. I found a different dealer instead.
Ha! I bought mine from Corwin Ford in Spokane so it must be the same thing. I seem to remember they wanted to charge me $399 for it and there was another $399 for some blink the 3rd brake light fast thing. Told them no and they didn't even try to keep it on and just dropped both.

Cellphone should detect it.

If one of my vehicles were stolen, I'd pay $800 to have it NOT recovered... I wouldn't want it back...

Edit: Also had a thought. Couldn't I just make a makeshift faraday cage out of like aluminum foil and then cover that with some electrical tape?

Absolutely not part of the truck. The wire taps and IMEI are dead giveaways.

You own the truck, there is merely a lien on it since you're financed. You can 100% remove that and trash it.

Cellphone should detect it.
Huh? In what way?

If I had found it two weeks ago I would have brought it with me to Hawaii, that'd leave them scratching their heads!

To mess with the dealer for installing it and hoping you wouldn't find it.
Without it being powered. The dealer wouldn't have any idea whether it was in your house or 2,000 miles away. The dealer would just see that it was disconnected.
