As much as the mob mentality is appreciated as i sit here in anger i agree. I am post a single review myself but at the end of the day I shouldve made a better deal for myself
You made what you thought was a good faith deal. The dealership may have planned this all along. After all, what's the big deal, right? One upset and disappointed customer in exchange for maybe $8,000. Guess who's laughing all the way to the bank?

Veterans and their active duty spouses shouldn't be taken advantage of like this.

I know, I know, I know....... I should have got something signed when I ordered my Mav back in July. I was told in my meeting during ordering that
I was locking in price and would avoid the almost guaranteed rise in value as demand goes up. Waited close to 6 months eagerly checking status of my order dang near everyday. Truck get delivered this morning 12-15-21. Dealership calls this morning to tell me there would be a $4,500 dealer mark up. Being that I am already out of that state due to a military PCS I would already have to buy a $500 plane ticket as well as almost 12 hour drive back to my new home I have decided to back out. So now a beautiful Ford Mav sitting in Altus, Oklahoma at a very crappy dealership of Wilmes Ford. At a awesome $4,500 mark up, which they may change to almost $8,000 as they are telling me they gave me a half off discount on the mark up!!!!!!! How kind of them for thinking of me in doing that!!!! Nope go screw yourself Wilmes Ford of Altus, Oklahoma.
Give Tim Bartz at Long McArthur Ford in Salina, KS a call.

I just looked at their website and noticed that they are located on N. Veterans Drive.

Ironic...

Really wonder how some people can even look in the mirror.

I hope a Mav works out for you elsewhere.

(To be clear on my position on these dealer markups, I have no problem with dealers marking vehicles up to whatever they want, IF NO PRIOR WRITTEN OR VERBAL COMMITMENT WAS MADE! If a price commitment was made to an ordering customer, it should be honored. Period. )
I look in the mirror just fine. Realize I made a mistake, but also
This tactic should be reported to Ford. The orders required a DL image attached so dealers weren't hiding 'stock' orders in the 'custom ordered' class. Adding ADM post order placement is unconscionable, and should be reported to Ford. Ford actually went back and requested DL images to AVOID exactly what happened.
I would get them on the line and file a formal complaint. At least let them know how much you were disappointed after such a long wait. Who knows, they may pull some of that dealers allocations... would serve them right. Make some NOISE.
Appreciate the reply and have used a screen shot of your wording to reply to the dealer, Thank you!

Hasn't Ford been stepping in when dealers attempt to mark up retail orders? It's different on stock units, but retail units..
I asked my dealer about it, and they said Ford really has no control of pricing and it’s left up to the dealership.

I'd be careful on calling for mob justice. Recall the Bronco buyer that got marked up on delivery and had a whole forum's worth of folks start posting fake reviews which nearly ended up with legal action against the buyer.
You can give your honest review and are not responsible if others support your cause. Sued? By who and for what? I post amazon reviews all the time.. In fact if you call Ford Marketing they ask you to stay on the phone for a brief customer survey..

That would have gone no where as the buyer did not post them.

Y'all are awesome with all the support but I do want it clear that I am just a Veteran and we PCS's due to my wife is still the active member

I agree that business. I posted this because I only had the spoken word of the dealer owner. I did not sign. Posting this so the next guy knows to sign.

What a bummer!!! When I placed my order I did not have anything signed by Sales Dept., & as time went on, I became more & more uncomfortable, so I asked my Salesman to. give me a signed copy with Sales Manager. He gave me my on-line printout of the Mavrick & Sales Manager signed it & I signed it, so hopefully I'm covered at RSVP as stated. I ordered on 7/26/21 Lariat Hybrid, 1st Edition, Lux Pkg., CoPilot 360 & still waiting.

I hope your greedy dealer suffers as a result with bad PR. Thanks for your Service.

Didn’t the Customer even have to post an apology to the Dealership on social media?

that Bronco dealer tried a $5K markup on my wife's Bronco Sport. After a phone call with them, we came to an agreement that was not going to happen.

My wife said the sales manager and salesperson were 'gray' after getting off the phone with me.

I picked up my ordered Maverick at AutoNation Ford Frisco TX on 12/13 and paid Invoice price with no-dealer adds or markups.

I did have a signed buyer's order with all costs listed and signed by me and the general sales manager. For reference to others do this now to protect yourself before delivery.

Getting back to AutoNation Ford Frisco I inquired if any other Mavericks were delivered with mine. I was told that only mine and one dealership stock Maverick (sold immediately) were delivered. I asked about what if any markups were on Maverick's. The answer is if your order the Maverick then none, you get it for MSRP. On stock Mavericks no ADM fee but you must purchase the dealer add-ons. I didn't get how much that costs but most are between $1400 to $1800.
