absolute radio silence from Wilmes ford themselves, but i have been texting with Fords North American Product Communications director in hopes that it all get sorted out.
Wilmes Ford of Altus, Oklahoma. Hit me with a $4,500 mark up upon delivery. Stated I was being given a deal off the $8,000 mark up they say they could get.
Exactly, picked the mav as my first truck because of the affordababilitlty even with the options, now they are marking it up and its approaching the price point for the bigger trucks.
just to cover myself. lets say hypothetically I have posted poor reveiws of the deal
My order was a cactus grey XLT with the off road 4x4, lux package and moonroof any help would be greatly appreciated
I have contacted them and have an open case. All customer service people I spoke with were amazing and pointed me in the right direction to get the complaint filed with higher management. If that actually happens is still yet to be seen but it has been filed
Could not agree more. This is a large dealership in a small military town. The family that owns this owns at least one other chevy dealer in this town. The $4,500 mark up at the end of the day most likely means little to them. For me, the markup will have me walking away from a special order...
I appreciate your words here. The dishonest dealer comes in to play when I met with him originally. He stated how value could go up but I was locked in. And as for the simple fact of going to the dealer in person, my family had to move out of state for the military. I couldn't exactly walk...
I am not entirly sure I mentioned them both in a tweet. Seem to be prominent social media car guys with solid following. There twitter user names are mentioned somewhere in this thread
I would be proactive as I wish I was but I will update on any outcome i can find. Y'all have been awesome with the support and I hope the same doesnt happen to you!
I have contacted them but am being told dealers are independent and can set prices. I went off the dealer owners words when I should not have. A complaint has been filed along with anywhere else that will here my complaint.
Another kicker is that in an email after I stated how I felt I was being wronged, the dealer owner said to me that if I back out they will have no problem selling to another person with 1 to 2 days......... confirming the fact they probably had this in mind the entire time my truck was on order
I look in the mirror just fine. Realize I made a mistake, but also
Appreciate the reply and have used a screen shot of your wording to reply to the dealer, Thank you!
As much as the mob mentality is appreciated as i sit here in anger i agree. I am post a single review myself but at the end of the day I shouldve made a better deal for myself
Y'all are awesome with all the support but I do want it clear that I am just a Veteran and we PCS's due to my wife is still the active member
I agree that business. I posted this because I only had the spoken word of the dealer owner. I did not sign. Posting this so the next guy knows to sign.
I know, I know, I know....... I should have got something signed when I ordered my Mav back in July. I was told in my meeting during ordering that
I was locking in price and would avoid the almost guaranteed rise in value as demand goes up. Waited close to 6 months eagerly checking status of...
usually not a huge fan of ragging on companies but i do feel this is not right, on the phone with Ford now waiting. The dealership is Wilmes Ford in Altus, OK.
They did give me a print out of the window sticker and all that and I was told that was the price but unfortunately I was not as pro active as you and signed. As well as recently had a PCS in the military and lost even that original sheet in all the travel.
