Sorry to hear about your problem. There have been many software bugs and many left unexplained. Sorry you are being attacked by some on this forum but that happens alot if you mention any problems.
Perhaps you don't know that your sympathy never reached the intended target as the OP signed up, posted his rant and has not been back since....

I updated post #2
Then again, I don't think anyone reads past the title of the thread before responding. 🧐

Well, I don't after the first time on a thread I've been following...
Somehow, I doubt any news will be forthcoming.
There is another Mav forum I'll check out...

Not a fan or user of the convenient everything a hacker needs for identity theft emporium.
Even if I were, I don't see how you could locate someone based on their MTC ID.

Kevin,
If before you get your key cut.
If you accidentally lock your driver's door because you pushed the lock lever while pushing your door open.
Check any of the other three doors they should all be unlocked.
thank you that has saved me a time or two.

At least he's not like the guy that complained about the seats everyday and was always About to trade it in šŸ˜…. By the way, I believe i saw the seat guy on Facebook, Instagram, and Commenting on YouTube. Got angry with those who said that the seats were ok with them even if they acknowledged that each person is unique.

Have they? Anyway my point was that if the brakes really did go out, that is obviously a major issue. Half of the replies to that thread doubted him, but the other half were outraged in sympathy and telling him to sue the pants off Ford.

If an accident-causing brake failure happened to me, the settlement I would’ve gotten would’ve allowed me to join a Lamborghini forum, not just come back to MTC like nothing happened.

There is no shame in being 86. That’s a lot of life to have lived. But I have also watched with my own eyes a lady about that age ā€œhit the wrong pedalā€ and accelerate her Oldsmobile through a parking stall, over a curb, through a chain link fence, over a stack of pallets, and into a pile of concrete block on my construction site. I’d wager that scenario plays out far more often than a complete brake failure. In the case of the MTC member, I’m suggesting his silence is an admission of guilt, but it’d be wrong to confront or ridicule him anyway, so it doesn’t matter…
There's been a couple threads. Mostly on Hybrids. The hybrids use a fully electric brake system, so hypothetically if you lose all power you also lose your brakes.

But I'm still highly suspect. There are multiple redundant sensors in the brake system and the default behavior if the sensors dont agree is to err on caution and be very aggressive on braking. I've heard on fancier euro cars that use the same tech getting stuck because the brakes wont release, but never one where the brakes refuse to engage.

It also just so happens that most of the people who have complained are also of an....advanced age. And their stories dont line up, like their brakes failed, they hit something....and were allowed to drive the car home. Uh huh. Sure.
When I bought my 1st Honda Accord, the salesman locked the doors then through the key fobs into the trunk and closed it. Horn beeped, doors unlocked, and the trunk popped open.
Ford needs to steal (acquire) this 2008 technology.
My VW does something similar. I locked the doors manually with the door button, with the key inside. The doors did indeed lock. However, the moment you pressed the door unlock button, they would then unlock again. Same if the key was in the backseat or trunk.

This did not occur if you were sitting in the driver seat though, because the car could see via the pressure sensor that you were sitting there, and would keep the door locked from the outside.

The Maverick doesnt seem to take the seat into consideration, which is why you cant un lock the drivers door with the keys inside.
