My wireless, flat car charger works only sometimes, and when it does, it’s a trickle charge. Does anyone have this same problem? Will Ford fix it? I know I can use the charging ports with a cable but I don’t want to.

Just a long shot question. Have you tried with and without a case on the phone? Possibly be related 🤷🏻‍♂️ pretty sure the case has to be capable

Compared to wired connections, all wireless charging is very slow. But yeah, the one that was briefly in the Maverick got especially bad reviews. Probably part of why they pulled it, tbh.

Yes. They are useless.

I never drive enough to need my phone recharge in my car.

My community driving is less than 5 minutes.

Last time I left home was Tuesday. Today is Saturday. I'm old and retired.

I can't tell if the wireless charger is good or not.

Yes. Thanks. For such an expensive truck, you would think the wireless charger would work well.
I've never heard of these working well for anything but a phone warmer even in BMWs and Merecedes. The OEMs put them in because people want them, but they don't actually care enough to make sure they work.

I would agree 100%, I rarely ever use mine, I'm rarely ever in the truck long enough to need it and not really a big phone user to begin with. That whole area of my console is normally full of junk, napkins and snacks. That said, mine has always worked, just slow and did notice the phone would be a little warm.

Lariat Money will get you a TRD Sport Tacoma at least, right? That's a healthy overlap, imo.

Are you kidding?

Even the Lariat is cheap AF compared to pretty much any other truck out there

Which one did you go with? I'm eying adding one to mine. I really enjoy it in my wife's car on long trips.

I put a better wireless charger over the factory one and wired it up to a fuse under the glove box. Works much better than the factory one.

Oh, I never noticed they're about the same price. With the thirsty turbo motor and body-on-frame design, a Tacoma doesn't suit my needs so I didn't even look at pricing

PS my wireless charger works fine, you need an ultra thin case. It's great to avoid Android Auto or Carplay draining the phone's battery during long trips
