That article tells me the thickness isn't an issue with my Pixel 3. It says it is charging. But - it really is discharging. Lost 5% in 3 miles driven with screen blank and no usage. Don't know if it's the phone or charger as Pixels need a special wireless stand to charge fast and charge slower on a normal wireless charger. I don't use wireless and have only tried in the Mav, which is LESS than satisfactory.

I'm having a similar problem with my Toyota. My phone heats up when on the charger but won't actually charge. I have an on/off switch for the charging pad in my Toyota so I just turn it off and when I need to charge my phone, I leave my phone on the charging pad (turned off) and plug it in and charge via charging cable.

I have an Otter case on my galaxy 9 and it charges but quickly gets hot. I just plug it in so I can use android auto. I'd much rather have that connection be wireless than the charge feature.

Tbh automotive wireless chargers suck across the board. This is even a issue on teslas. Creates a ton of heat for minimal if at all any charge. Run it with wireless AA/CP and you may have enough to not lose battery.

Pretty much why I didn't waste the money to run wireless AA if I still need to use a cord to charge my phone.

Refer to this article about cell phone cases and wireless charging. Remember, there is a covering over the wireless charger in the maverick that adds to the distance between the charger and the cell phone. You need to consider the wireless needs to go through the cell phone case plus the cover material over the charger. Hopefully this article will be informative to you. https://www.techevaluate.com/7-questions-about-wireless-charging-with-a-thick-smartphone-case/
Thank you i'm totally aware of how a wireless charger works, but the one in the Maverick is the worst i have and i tested a lot

I really love my Motorola MA1 for wireless Android Auto. It's awesome for small trips around. But as soon as i make more than 30 minutes i'm still using it wirelessly but i have a usb cable coming from the back usb outlets (that only charges, no android auto) to charge my phone because it's draining way to fast the battery to use Wireles AA + GPS and anything.

Has anyone brought this Fords attention? Seems they would like to have one that actually works ;)

I think it is working, but when paired with Android Auto and or Wireless Android Auto and using gps and spotify and lots of things, the phones are overheating and i think they stop the charging when that happens... Wireless charging is far from perfect... But if i use it to only charge my phone and not using anything it works ok.

Makes sense. I don't have a Mav yet ;), but I have noticed that my wife has so many apps running on her iphone that it will go from 100% charged in the morning to about 20% by the evening. Mine usually says it's about 75-80% by the end of the day. I don't have near as many apps on my phone, and I try to make sure I don't have many, if any, apps running in the background. It's pretty much just a phone and a camera to me ;) I do have to take off the case for it charge on the pad in my Caddy, but it charges well and doesn't get hot.

Yes, it disconnects all the time and actually causing my iPhone Pro Max to get too hot. I quit using it all together. Nothing worse for your phone than to overheat the battery. Far as I am concerned that charging pad is junk. I have wireless charging in my home on my bed stand, but it never get hot like this one in the Maverick does.

Yes, I am having this issue as well. I just move the phone on the mat until it shows the charging icon. It did mention in the article that if the phone vibrates it could move off the sweet spot.

Wireless stopped working today
with my case on or off, iPhone SE2.

I’ll mention this issue to the service tech on Monday, I’m going in for a headliner fraying issue for the second time.

The charger in my 2922 Lariat hybrid stopped, not even intermittent. It's a problem when using maps on Android auto

Yeah, and i'm using it with Wireless Android Auto and it makes the phone really hot...
I was thinking about seeing if I could add a charging pad in my 2025 XLT but after reading this I guess that it's not worth the trouble 😅
