get the extended - it's probably about 2400 since the beginning of month cost increase, with the price of the mav going up every year trading it in at 60K = the difference is far more than just getting the extended. On my '22 that I paid 21K for, i got the extended for $2K, if i was trying to replace it today it would be 30K.
You have other considerations. The cost of the 22 extended warranty at time of purchase ($2000) loses compound interest for 3yr/36k miles (OEM warranty period) before it goes into the time period it will pay anything back. (What would $2k be if you put it into tax free roth retirement after 15-40 years?). Insurance of course is expensive only if you do not ever need to use it?

When I purchased the truck in '22 the cost of the warranty was $1400. Flash ahead to 2025 when the cost had escalated to $2300. I ended up waiting - bad move - but paid cash for the warranty in 2025 just before my factory warranty expired - bad move - I should have ponied up for it in cash when I bought the truck. So lessons is the price escalation for the warranty far exceeded - even if I had financed the warranty in 2022 (at a lofty 5 percent interest that was the norm back then) I would have been far ahead as the warranty cost went up more than 50 percent over 3 years - investing that money over 3 years was not going to net me 50 percent even with compounding. With the loaded dealer labor hourly rate of $150 or so an hour these day and the price of parts escalating, buying the warranty - for cash - as soon as you purchase the truck is not a bad idea - you lock in the current rate which is not unreasonable - and you will be good until 10 years and 100k miles.

Disconnecting the 12v battery can in itself cause data loss particularly if more than a few days. It's been awhile since I read my manual but as I remember it was mentioned that relearning and gathering data can take quite a few miles. (1000, 1500, ?) Just like when you first took possession. There is no reason to expect it to act like it ever did in the past. My 2022 seems to respond slightly different depending on whether it's started with my wife's phone connected or mine.
The relearning would not be the eCVT.
Since no shift points, merely a known efficiency/torque band to stay in depending on power request - that strategy is written to the module, not learned.

Now that would be interesting test since I've never heard of any posts discuss truck functions that care what phone connected, or act differently when they do - except the screen display.
Curious what difference in response you seem to see - and who is driving?

There is a bit about disconnecting terminals 2 minutes after truck power off though - so it can finish writing some data from last drive.
Did they merely copy the EB section of manual, or does it apply to the hybrid? I think copy/paste, but there may be something there regarding fuel system / tank pressure.

Wait a minimum of two minutes before disconnecting the battery.
Note: The engine management system has a power hold function and remains powered for a period of time after you switch the ignition off. This is to allow the system to store diagnostic and adaptive tables. Disconnecting the battery without waiting can cause damage not covered by the vehicle warranty.

Re: key connected. Wife gets in connects her key prior to me sometimes. Then when when we switch drivers without turning truck off/switching connected key and I drive. The truck seems to be different than when I use my key. Nothing I can quote exactly. You might consider driving in eco mode with one fob connected slightly more aggressively than when the other fob is connected. Also (if you have it) try driving with active cruise on but not set and "feel" the truck as you drive then repeat without the active cruise off. (Not positive but appears to drive differently). The wife aka "leadfoot" typically gets 5-7 mpg different than I do when "this trip" odo is selected.
Also I do not expect he fob double lock which turns off the courtesy lights, radio, dash, etc earlier to not turn the 2(?) minute
data save off early, but maybe other things are as truck seems to be quieter than if only single locked.

I think that they did indeed change the programming between at least 22MY and 24MY regarding what the double-lock on fob does.
24MY nothing different on XLT that I can see.
Everything off at same speed (tested when I had a full battery and that would matter - oh, so long ago!)
Merely the honk confirmation of what the lights do - showing you didn't leave a door ajar.
(unless you disable the setting)

Who knows, probably same with only a change in the settings when shipped being different.

this shaking and the cv failure is really something (in my opinion) Ford should address

When I first read the title transmission overhaul and axles replaced on a 2022...

...I thought I was reading a Jeep forum. :)
