2022 Maverick Hybrid was shaking in 55-75 mph range during acceleration due to bad axles. Also the transmission was leaking. I suspect the faulty axles causing the shaking also causing the leaking.

The car in Ford dealer to have transmission rebuilt and resealed with Ford covering 40% since over the 70k warranty limit. Ford recall had the axles replaced free of charge. I got the Maverick back after three months being in the shop for the repairs.

But, now the Maverick feels sluggish accelerating in normal driving mode. Also, when on freeway at 80 mph and letting go the gas to let car coast the car seems to be in lower gear. The car slows down a lot faster without braking than before. Feels a lower gear is always engaged when doing this.

Do I need dealer to reset the software as well since the transmission is overhauled? Lastly, the gas mpg seems to dropped a few mpgs after 4 weeks driving the car since the repairs done.

Yes, since your transmission was overhauled, you definitely need to clear the transmission adaptive learning tables.

The 8F35 transmission in your 2022 Maverick uses a "learning" software that adjusts line pressures and shift timing to compensate for the wear of the original clutches and components over those 70,000 miles. If you don't reset this, the computer will try to apply old "worn-in" shift logic to your brand-new internal parts, which can lead to harsh shifts or premature wear.

Perform the reset via FORScan if you haven't yet, or pay a visit to your local Ford dealer and give it another two tanks of gas. If the MPG doesn't return to normal after about 500 miles, it’s worth checking for any pending codes or checking the fluid level (as an under-filled or over-filled transmission can also impact efficiency).

The OP states it's a Hybrid...

For the lower gear feel, is the L button in the centre of the drive mode dial activated by any chance? It would cause what you are describing. If it is the L will be highlighted on the dash for the selected gear.

Since you have a pre-25MY - you have an actual power gauge - with regen area.

While on highway with no one behind you to test the coasting - start with Normal drive mode do the test coast from the same speed each time, then Slippery, then ECO. Then with L pushed.
Then back to Normal with no Low.
Kinda note how far into the green regen it goes each time - will be different amounts.
In case not known - yes you can change drive modes while driving/moving - no harm will occur.

Any difference after you cycle back around to Normal again?

You got 2 new axles, right?

2025/26 models have a gauge as well..... A bar gauge vs the sweep in the earlier trucks..

The missing info here is: What does this transmission "overhaul" actually mean? Did they just change the fluid and re-seal it, or did they actually go in and replace some parts? The e-CVT is a very different animal than the traditional 8 speed in the ecoboosts, and I'd be curious(surprised even)if they really replaced any parts in the transmission. I'd be more inclined to think the difference in behavior is software related, more so than parts related. I'm definitely no expert though.

I got the Maverick back after three months being in the shop for the repairs.
Any chance the change in feel is a change in perception caused by driving a different vehicle for 3 months? Perhaps a non hybrid? If the dealer had reassembled something incorrectly it likely would have failed in the 4 weeks since the repair, depending on the amount you drive, of course.

The software shouldn't need to be changed for a mechanical repair.

Hope it works out.

Cheers.

Probably all they did - remove it, crack it, new seal.
Unless the shaking really did do some internal damage discovered while cracked open.
Other seals, bearings, gears perhaps.

In which case, feel of new vs broke in tranny.
