LED reverse light bulb for the 2026 Ford Maverick XLT? I’ve tried lights from F15EDs and LAZFIT but none have same base and none work.

The Maverick should use a WT21W bulb for reverse. Most LED companies supply the more common 3157 bulb, which technically can work if you trim some plastic tabs off the bulb base.

Shouldn't be a difference with older vehicles.

There are a few cross-compatible plugs. The difference comes down to the number of circuits or filaments (example: turn signal/marker bulbs have two), amperage (brightness) ratings and small tabs on the sides. My front turn signals are 3157 with the tabs ground down.

I looked at the F150 site. From the comments and looking around a bit on Google it appears the new version of their bulbs "Ares" replaces the whole socket, not just the bulb itself. You plug the new socket into the old.

Lazfit has a WT21W bulb on their site that shows compatible with 2026.

Sylvania/OSRAM Zevo 3156 are the best (IMO). But like with the 3157 you will need to grind down the tab. They're made in Italy, not China, in case that means anything to you and with their excellent heatsink design these should last the life of the vehicle.

Reverse lights don't require two circuits as in the 3157, that's why the 3156 is a better option.

I have no idea if there is a difference in the bulb sockets on the MY26 vs previous years. I have a MY22, back then lastfit was mentioned often on the forum so I purchased their led's just for my backup and the clear cargo lens. Well, the lastfit's lasted a little over 6 months. I wasn't happy at all.
So I purchased replacements from Diode Dynamics and they have been flawless since 2022. I'm extremely happy with them and highly recommend their products.
There was a post/thread not too long ago about someone using Sylvania that recommended them. I've never used them so I have no opinion but they are probably available at most automotive stores like O'Reilly, Napa, etc.

As previously mentioned, it's not uncommon to have to shave a little of the plastic on the sides so they go into the socket easily. Good Luck in which ever brand you decide to use

Sylvania Zevo is what I use too. Most of my bulbs have been taken off the F-150 they're all at least 3 years old now.

Is there a reverse LED reverse bulb for 2026 Ford Maverick XLT?

I’ve tried F150LED and LAZFIT but none have same base and none work.
Good day

Here is a photo of the LED bulbs I put in my 2025 Lariat and should be the same as what you need.

I put them in a year ago, and have had no issues with them-they just work the way they are supposed to.

I did not have to do anything to the bulb to get them to fit and they are still available on Amazon (please note that the price is in CAD on Amazon.ca...your price may be different).

Cheers

Andy

I used the Lasfit WT21W in the taillight housing, and the Diode Dynamics hitch receiver auxiliary backup light. Now I can see what is behind me.

Oh good - that's what I got in over the weekend.
Was hoping for plug-in-play, and no hyperflash issues.
Want to do some compare pics, so waiting for night time and a blank wall to use.
(ya - US is $23 currently, one of the cheaper options out there)

Did you mess with the high white lights?
I did 3rd brake light already, but didn't feel the need to mess with the whites yet.

Good day

You mentioned hyperflash, so I believe you are referring to when replacing your signal lights.

I did replace my rear brake, rear signal lights, backup lights and yes, I replaced the high white lights on each side of the third brake light.

I get the hyper flash turn signal inside my truck but the exterior turn signals flash at the original speed. I have no problem with this, as it helps remind me when my signal lights are still selected and I need to turn them off manually.

The backup led white lights are wonderfully bright as hoped.

My third brake light was swapped for a lFantelli led bulb that flashes several times before staying on for extra visibility for the drivers behind us.

As for the high white lights (x2), I changed them all at the same time as the brake light.

I have read reports here where people had their halogen bulbs melt the plastic housing when the lights were being used for an extended time...I don't like hearing that so swapped them out. I did use a yellow (looks like the stock halogen light) light led but have thought about it and would use the very white led bulbs that were also available from the same company. The very white light would match the led light that is in the left rear corner of our trucks.

Have a good one, and enjoy your new rearward visibility!

Andy

Well, I finally got the lights installed a week or two ago - got my before / after pics.
Not so sure I see much improvement.

To be clear - I got these:

Indeed plug-n-play, no trimming needed.

Since the purpose is more light backing up, that's what the pictures are of - the view to benefit from them.
The upper brake light was swapped out to LED and is brighter - the bed lights were not.

Doesn't seem very much brighter, and brake lights brighter anyway as much backing up has them on.
I guess in the sense there seems like less red, then the white must be brighter?

The 2nd side mirror view where brakes were not on, despite getting angle a tad off - does seem a tad whiter.
But rear view camera - not seeing much difference there.

Maybe I'll see about getting the upper white lights replaced. But probably just wait for 1st bulb burnout.

@HeyBales Did you put white bulbs in the red brake light housings? Is so, don't do that. The bulb colour must match the plastic colour generally.

Reverse lights, not brake/driving lights.

Therefore the middle spot.

With triangular "bulbs" - I may take a look at how the angles landed in there.
Just off top of head can't decide if vertical out or into reflector would be better.
If they setup plug to work that way.

Gotcha I wasn't 100% sure, the reverse and box lights don't need Canbus or resistors they aren't monitored by the BCM. *Edit* *I may be wrong and it was only the box lights that are 921 I swear I put them in the reverse lights too, I'll double check.* My reverse lights are 921 equivalent (I'm not sure if the older model is too). so I reused Auxito 921 bulbs from my F-150. They have a rear facing lens and 360° lighting that does very very well.

My brake lights are LED too they're Sylvania Zevo the bulb faces left and right and project rearward correctly if that helps you at all.
