Is there a way to disable this dumb seatbelt status screen that pops up at startup? I obviously don't need it if I'm the only person in the truck and my seatbelt is already buckled. Truck is a 2026 Lobo.

If you buckle the rear belts or buy a "bottle opener" dummy latch the pop up disappears as soon as occupied front seats buckle up. If you buckle up before starting the truck you won't see it at all.

Just tried this and it does work. Which is bizarre, because if the seatbelts are buckled in the back, that would normally indicate that there are occupants back there and that's when I would actually want to see the seatbelt status screen. Seems like a poorly thought-out feature.

I am no expert on the software but by it's behavior it seems they took the easy route of coding for ALWAYS 3 people in the back that need buckled. I noticed that if the front belts were buckled at start it still would pop up for the rears even if no one was in the seats.

It seems like the seat buckles are sensitive even to being played with. I've got 3 kids and the booster is in the middle. If I'm not carrying the littlest one in the middle and one kid gets in on the passenger side where the 2 buckles are side by side, he messes with both buckles trying to find the right one then the stupid screen demands that the middle buckle be buckled.

Yes had that happen also. And it would not clear until the middle was latched. It was like it saw it had been unbuckled after being buckled.

For the seat belt the annoying thing to me is that it doesn't clear unless you hit "OK" even if all seat belts are buckled.

Does in my 2024. If I have the 3 rear buckled, get in the driver seat, buckle it, then start the truck the pop up NEVER displays. If I buckle after start as soon as I buckle mine it goes away. May be different on 2025 or hybrid, don't know.

The front seats have a presence sensor, the back seat does not. I rarely have anyone in the back seat so I use the bottle openers. They work great and the seat belt screen now works like it should.

edit: I'd add the Amazon link where I bought them, but it now goes to the dogs :(

If you open a back door it assumes someone left, and lays off the warning.
At least for me it did.
Actually back passenger dad opened door while I was moving.

Did it try to convince you the back door was a jar and not a door?

It did do that warning - and a louder than seatbelt warning with door open while moving.
Or the seatbelt warning was getting more serious anyway.
Whole thing was pretty annoying during one of my first group rides.
Kiddo did exactly what was mentioned - moved clip from middle to correct side - and we couldn't pull over then.
Since I knew no weight sensors, I figured it was confused, and door attempt was after attempt to move clips back and forth.

Not necessarily true.

For decades, I've habitually buckled up before starting my car, but when I buckle up before pressing the brake and pushing the start button in my '25 Lariat, that annoying reminder shows up and does not go off until I press the "OK" button. Not only is that at least as annoying as any of the other incredibly annoying things about the vehicle, but (as is true with all those other things) it is 100% unnecessary.
